Editor's Notes

  1. Hi everyone, welcome to our iIntern presentation. Lilyan and I have been working on how we can brand our new internship program for about two months now and we’re excited to have you all here to see what we’ve come up with.
  2. We were asked by Daniel to come up with three different approaches to iIntern. When we first met with him, he wanted our ideas to be professional, innovative and cutting edge. So we used those words to help create our approaches. With each approach we included a social media plan to help further the advertising and help gain notice to the program. Daniel did not give us any guidelines to follow, so everything was created with free range!
  3. With these approaches we are targeting employers; small to medium business who need help help in developing and strengthening their workforce with interns
  4. With each approach, we created an overall theme. For the first approach, we created “The Search for the Right Intern” and basically with this theme we want to portray that here at SJSU, we have the right students that employers are looking for - they’re fresh with new perspectives. But we also stress that employers will need our help to find them - which is where iIntern comes in.
  5. This is Absara Sans, the official secondary typeface for SJSU.
  6. What’s unique about its letter “i” is the slanted top end of the stroke. This slant was the inspiration for the overall theme of the iIntern branding because it creates energy and dimension which reflects the spirit of SJSU students.
  7. Professional, yet playful. Plays on the slogan, “The search for the right intern” with the border around the person’s face implying the “right search” or “right fit” for the employer’s business. The colors used are the Spartan blue and gold to represent the school and its students.
  8. WIth our social media plan, we want to utilize the Career Center’s Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. We want it to be professional but have a playful tone in words. We’ve created 2 hashtags that we will use consistently through all of our platforms #SJSUiIntern #theSearchEndsHere For twitter we decided to post at least twice a week, for IG once every two weeks, and for FB once every week Twitter will consist of catchy tweets about iIntern, one of them could be “Opportunity is knocking, connect with us and we can help you find the RIGHT intern #iIntern” On IG, we will use graphics to help with a catchy caption On Facebook, we could feature an iIntern banner for the first few months. Posting on Facebook could be a little more room

  10. To review ,
  11. This theme portrays the diverse talent pool here at SJSU. It reflects the innovative spirit that students have to offer for the Silicon Valley. You’ll see that compared to the other themes, this one is more on the compelling and on the alluring side.
  12. Modern, cutting edge look. Continuation of the slant from the “i” to provide dimension to the poster. Also used black to provide a classic and modern look.
  13. In this theme we are trying portray a more traditional and approachable way to market iIntern. We want the Career Center to seem welcoming, and reliable - hence the theme of a guidance of a helping hand.
