DanceTeacher
As a dance teacher, it is important for you to present the most
valuable information in the most efficient way possible. Students
come to dance class because they enjoy dancing, and too much
teacher talk often gets in the way of dancing time. In addition, the
brain can only process a certain number of words, after which a
student tends to tune out.

DanceTeacher
In order to allow students to gain experience and internalize their
learning, use your planning time to determine what you need
them to know, and think about how to say it simply.Assess how
you can communicate technical requirements as well as posture,
hand use, expression, and energy flow with minimal verbiage.
Many teachers find that it helps to look at the step or combination
with a beginner's eye and discover which steps are difficult, and
select teaching points accordingly. Many teachers also plan to let
students try a step and observe how they execute it, so they can
explain only what the class needs to hear. Each class varies in
ability to absorb information, so it is important to adapt the
curriculum and pace of instruction accordingly.
