To Whom It May Concern:
Wai (Chris) Wang has worked at the Office of Storm Water Program Development, California
Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Headquarters, as an Engineering Student Assistant since
September, 2015.
Chris has served as a member of the Storm Water Program Development team and worked on
several storm water monitoring projects throughout California. His responsibilities include
analyzing water quality data, generating GIS maps for project work sites, assistance with review,
verification, and validation of data in the storm water data archive. Furthermore, Chris assisted
engineering staff in completing tasks, such as generating/reviewing reports, analyzing data and
scoping Task Orders.
Chris has been, and continues to be, a valuable asset, and dependable worker. He impressed me as
a fast learner and very responsible team worker. He gained proficiency with R Studio Statistical
software quickly and used it to complete several data evaluation tasks efficiently. Chris is a good
verbal communicator and presenter. He demonstrated excellence in written communication skills
by preparing a technical report for which he compiled and analyzed the data and presented the
conclusions using creative visual aids. He has performed at a level equivalent to that of staff/senior
level engineers and I am sure he will continue to do so given the right work environment.
Chris is a valuable contributor through his quality work effort, reliability, team work and positive
attitude. I am pleased to provide him with this letter of recommendation. If there were a position
available in my office, I would consider him for the position.
Sincerely,
