   MAGAZINE PITCH
   CHRIS LAMBERT
The Brief

I have been commissioned by the Northern
Echo to produce a new magazine. My
product is from the genre of TV/Film and
aimed at the 16 -25 age range.

I really looked at my audience
when deciding on the style of
my magazine, I tried to keep it
in the genre but give it a lively
              twist.
The Market

I feel like I have met the brief I have made a magazine
that I think will do really well and fits into a gap in
   the current market .

I have been unable to find a magazine that talks about,
TV programs, movies and YouTubers, in detail. This
is the gap I'm to fill.
Primary audience

Age: 16 - 20
Socioeconomics: B C1
Tribe: Urban, Get Paid Crew, Blingers.
Gender: Males 60 %, Females 40 %.
Educational Status: College
Genre Research

From looking at the genre I find that the
colours and the style really match what the
page is looking at. The language and
models used are mostly famous or in the
public eye.

The images I have used are
                    examples of my own
                    photography.
Text

These are the texts that I am planning on using, the
first one is the front cover title, and the other is for
 my headers.
Imagery

I’m going to make my imagery very interesting
and eye catching.

I’m also going to make a lot
                    of the imagery myself from
                    my own original images.
Text To Image Ratio

The text to image ratio will be high, in
favour of images.

This is because images are more eye-
catching and will draw the audience into
                       buying the magazine.
Language

I'm going to make the language very
young and hip. Using a lot of
colloquial language to try and relate
with my audience.

All the sentences will be short. This
will keep the readers engaged and
will make all the paragraphs simple
to read.
Narrative voice

The narrative voice will be changing all the way through the
magazine from 1st , 2nd to 3rd.

The reason I'm using al the
                           narrative voices is because I'm
                           planning to have interviews which
                           normally consist of a conversation
Mock Ups

Double page spread 1 –
I tried to keep this one
clear and colourful.

                            Double page spread 2-
                            This one was more
                            manly and dark.
Good Things About My Mock Ups

There were some really positive comments that came
from my focus group, here are some of the things that
they liked;
Creative Criticisms For My Mock Ups

After my focus group I had a lot of things that needed
 to be changed, here are some of the comments;
Flat plans

Here are my flat plans.
Double page spreads

Each double page spread will have different
content but we are going to try to keep the
amount of columns the same.

There will be 4 columns on each
page to keep the pages well
                              organised and full.
Comparison with other magazines of this genre

As you can see this image is very bright
                    and colourful.

The text to image ratio is quite low.

It is aimed at a huge variation in age
                    range

The imagery is very well done, and it is
                      very eye catching.
Our Magazine

This is very similar to our magazine, because;

On the Box Pitch

  • 1. On The Box MAGAZINE PITCH CHRIS LAMBERT
  • 2. The Brief I have been commissioned by the Northern Echo to produce a new magazine. My product is from the genre of TV/Film and aimed at the 16 -25 age range. I really looked at my audience when deciding on the style of my magazine, I tried to keep it in the genre but give it a lively twist.
  • 3. The Market I feel like I have met the brief I have made a magazine that I think will do really well and fits into a gap in the current market . I have been unable to find a magazine that talks about, TV programs, movies and YouTubers, in detail. This is the gap I'm to fill.

  • 5. Genre Research From looking at the genre I find that the colours and the style really match what the page is looking at. The language and models used are mostly famous or in the public eye. The images I have used are examples of my own photography.
  • 6. Text These are the texts that I am planning on using, the first one is the front cover title, and the other is for my headers.
  • 7. Imagery I’m going to make my imagery very interesting and eye catching. I’m also going to make a lot of the imagery myself from my own original images.
  • 8. Text To Image Ratio The text to image ratio will be high, in favour of images. This is because images are more eye- catching and will draw the audience into buying the magazine.
  • 9. Language I'm going to make the language very young and hip. Using a lot of colloquial language to try and relate with my audience. All the sentences will be short. This will keep the readers engaged and will make all the paragraphs simple to read.
