in 2018 and is a public state university. However, this
university has its functions divided between its affiliated
colleges as well as the academic departments. Additionally,
all its affiliated colleges are around the areas of Nalanda
district and Patna. Patliputra University offers courses in
various fields, including Science, Humanities, Engineering,
Commerce, to name a few.

total, there are 25 constituent colleges, along with pharmacy
and engineering colleges as well. Additionally, there are 38
affiliated colleges and two government girls colleges. The
state of Bihar established the university under the act of the

approved Patliputra University. NAAC has also accredited
the university.

courses, and most of the courses are for a
duration of three years, whereas Post Graduate
courses are for two years. Some of the most

Bachelors: Firstly, Paltipultra University offers
BSc in Mathematics/ Physics/ Chemistry/ Zoology/
Electronics/ Botany. Additionally, some of the
specializations under BA are Rural Economics, A.
I and A.S Psychology, Sociology, Geography,
Economics, Pol Science, History, Music,
Philosophy, Prakrit, Persian, Bangala, Magahi,

9. Since the Magadh University was facing a lot of problems due
to a large number of affiliated colleges, Bihar’s Education
Minister proposed to split the said university into two. They
initially took this decision in 2015. Moreover, in the same year,
the vice-chancellor of Magadh University took a decision to
make the university’s office branch stronger. This was done
mainly so that students will not have to visit the Bodh Gaya
office for every necessity.
In conclusion, the Magadh University was bifurcated after the
Bihar State Universities Bill got approved. Thereafter, the
Patliputra University was established, with Gulab Chand Ram
Jaiswal as the vice-chancellor and Girish Kumar Choudhary as
the pro-vice-chancellor, in the years 2018.

10. Library
All the colleges under Patliputra University have an extensive
library and along with a large number of books, journals, and
magazines, there are databases for the students as well.
Additionally, the university provides access to e-learning and
the students can log in to those databases to access research
articles, journals and the like, for their reference.
Moreover, there is free Wi-fi for all the students and they can
access those databases from the same. Therefore, the students
can access e-books and e-journals at any time.
Hostel
Some of the affiliated colleges provide accommodation facilities
as well. Additionally, most of the colleges under Patliputra
University have separate hostels for both boys and girls.
Moreover, the hostels are furnished fully and have other
facilities like tables, beds, fans and a good security system for
the safety and comfort of the students.

well. These cells are established by the university for the

abuse in their college or university. Similarly, the Women's cell's
purpose is also to protect women and promote development.

the students, the university also has an efficient
placement cell. Moreover, they collaborate for
better training so that students can acquire job
roles. Moreover, a good amount of companies
participate in the placement drive every year,
offering many job opportunities to the students.
Some of the companies offer packages of INR
15,000 a month to INR 50,000 per month. These
are the average salary packages in the entire
university. However, some of the most popular
and top colleges under Patliputra University
receive more companies during their placement
drive and offer higher packages to the students.
For instance, some of the companies who
participate in the placement drive almost every
year are Godrej, Tech Mahindra among many
others.

some differences in terms of the degree and
specialisations. The first-year fees for BCA, BBA,
BSc, and BBM is INR 15,000. Moreover, for BTTM,
