2. What is INDIE FILM?
 “Indie” is a modern cultural term that stems
from the word “independent.
 Originally, the defining quality of indie media
(film, music, publishing, etc.) was that it was
produced outside of the traditional systems of
production. So in film, for example, movies
produced without the support of the major
Hollywood studios would be “independent
films,” or “indies” for short.

4. Advantages
 The main cost of producing an average
independent film is lower than
commercial film.
 Few people in the crew the most would be 20
and the least 3 including the director, video
man and sound-man which they could share
workload to fill-out the missing position.
 Another advantage would be film juries abroad
favor independent films because of more
interesting topics and substance.

5. Disadvantages
 It would be less profit as to their niche
market and only few cinemas allows screening
independent movies.
 There is a negativity when independent
movies are mentioned their is still doubts
coming from Filipino themselves as to most
topics are in the lines of homosexuality,
prostitution and poverty.
