MEDAID is an idea that was born over a weekend at Hackomania organised by GeeksHacking. Under the SGInnovate's MedTech Challenge on diabetesm, my team and I came up with MEDAID - an application that makes working out for people with diabetes, fun again.

2. Bob's Story
40 year old, Type 2
Diabetes.
One of the ways to reduce
his symptoms is to work
out.
Bob thinks working out is
tough work
There are no incentives for
him to do so
How can we get people like
Bob to be encouraged to
work out and find joy in
doing so?

3. INTRODUCING MEDAID

4. Every week, MedAID features a
physical activity challenge at an area
near the app user.
As Bob lives in Clementi, MEDAID
proposes him with a challenge at a
park near him.
Bob also sees that the prizes are
attractive - healthy exquisite dining
vouchers as well as real-world and
virtual rewards by just participating!

5. Upon accepting the challenge, Bob
can choose to join existing teams
which are displayed based on the
number of mutual friends Bob has
in MEDAID.
If Bob is dissatisfied, Bob can choose
to manually create him own team
for the challenge.

6. Fast forward to the challenge day
itself, Bob and his friends make
their way to the starting point in
the park. The GPS in MEDIAD
automatically checks the team
members in.
At 10AM, MEDAID triggers the GPS
location based tracking and teams
are off making their way to the
designated end point within the
given time limit.

7. Upon completing the challenge,
Bob's team realizes that they
emerged first place!
Members of the team can then
proceed to claim their rewards and
find out more about the completion
scores of the other teams.
MEDAID also features special end-
of-month challenges that aims to
bring together everyone and
anyone to compete in inter-region
or nationwide challenges
