Question 2 Evaluation.
Part 3 – Planning.
Digital technology was of less use in this stage. We mainly used written
documents and storyboards when planning as it meant we had a copy to
take out when we were filming. Below are examples of how we drew up
our storyboards to make filming efficient as possible.
Celtx Online.
Celtx Online was a very helpful digital technology we found and used when it came
to creating shot lists.
Celtx meant we could type out our shot lists easily and
neatly without having to write them all up by hand. These
shot lists made filming very easy and quick as we knew
exactly what we wanted and we could all read it instead of
struggling to read someone's handwriting if it was not
clear enough.
Again, Blogger came in handy
when planning. All of our shot
lists and storyboards where
logged here so if we ever needed
to make reference back to them
they where all in one place. We
also kept track of what we
wanted our stars to look like so
when we was planning to film
we could look at our research
and tell our actors what costume
and make up to wear.
Microsoft word was also another
digital technology that came in
handy in the planning stage. We
used this digital technology to
write up our risk assessment
before we went out and did
filming. This technology also came
in useful when we wanted to note
down some ideas for certain shots
before we put the final decision
on the Celtx shot list. We didn’t
use this digital technology as
much in this stage but it did come
in handy on occasion.
I feel Celtx was the most
beneficial digital technology
to us as it meant we could
quickly and easily write up
shot lists for free whereas
other websites may make you
pay to use their services.
Celtx made our shot lists look
very professional and smart.
We did not use Celtx once
when creating shot lists and I
feel it made the shot lists
look messy and they were not
very efficient.
Planning was a vital stage when creating our
music video as without it our creativity skills
development would have been limited
because we could not work on our current
ideas without them being recorded down on
Celtx or our blogs.
Our use of digital technology such as blogger
and Celtx led to the success of our music video
in my opinion as without these reliable ways or
recording and logging our production and
planning paperwork we would have had no clue
what shots we needed when it came to filming.
Overall minimal digital technology was used on the
planning stage compared to other stages. I feel that it
was a lot easier when planning to use written
documents when doing story boards and film schedules
as the pictures on the story boards would have been
difficult and unclear if done on the computer using a
digital technology such as Photoshop or other drawing
apps/websites.
