The document outlines the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted by the United Nations which includes 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDGs aim to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all people by 2030. Sustainable development is defined as meeting present needs without compromising future generations' ability to meet their own needs, and requires balancing economic, social, and environmental priorities. The goals address global challenges like climate change, economic inequality, innovation, sustainable consumption, and more. The UN will promote public awareness of the SDGs and leverage partnerships to achieve the goals by 2030.
2. Three Dimensions of Sustainable Development
• Sustainable development has been defined as development that meets
the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future
generations to meet their own needs.
• For sustainable development to be achieved, it is crucial to harmonize
three core elements: economic growth, social inclusion and
environmental protection.
