Rule Of Thirds
10
http://www.photographymad.com/pages/view/rule-of-thirds https://digital-photography-school.com/rule-of-thirds/
The rule of thirds is when you divide an image with two horizontal lines and two vertical lines into three rows of three columns, you place the image inside this scene and move the most
important part of the picture along the lines or on the point where they meet. The idea of the rule of thirds is that a lot of people think a more off centre composition is more pleasing to the eye
than normal centred pictures.

2.1 Assessing My Skills
12
In 2.1 I learnt about camera angles and camera shots, such as extreme long shots, that are used for setting the scene and letting the audience know what is happening at the scene e.g. a war, the
outside of a building. Long shots, which is normally a full shot of a human body. Medium long shot, usually used for dialogue scenes, often from knees or waist up. Close up, which focuses on a
face or little details, the background is barely visible. This shot shows us how important something is. An extreme close up, This shot usually magnifies the eye or mouth of a character, or an
object that is extremely small. It usually increases dramatic effect. Finally, an oblique angle, where you tilt the camera angle to add a dramatic effect to the movie or video, this shot is usually
used in horror movies. Before I started to learn these skills I was on a grade 5, which means I don’t really know anything about this skill. But I think I am a 4 now, which means I know a little about
this skill and I can explain some things about this skill.
4th of April—2.1
In 2.5 we learnt about job roles of the film crew, including the director, the editor, the production office, the casting, the camera crew, lighting and the script writer. The director is the person that
makes the decisions for the team and also being able to translate the script the script writer wrote down into an actual movie. The editor has to work close to the director and make sure the
movie looks good and checking through the whole movie with the director to give the movie it’s finishing touches. The production office needs to fund the production of the movie and turn the
movie idea into a profitable movies. The casting crew’s job is to negotiate fees for the actors and finding the perfect roles for the actors. The camera crew needs to know how to operate filming
equipment and know how to use different electronics to help them film the movie. The lighting operator needs to know how to operate heavy electric machinery and lead a team of electricians.
The script writer needs to be creative, the person who is in this job role needs to work very closely with the director to make a good movie out of the script. When we started this unit I was a 5,
which meant I didn’t know anything about this skill, but I think I am a 4 now, which means I know somethings about this skill.
