MEANING
Marketing management means
management of the marketing
functions.It refers to
planning,organizing,directing and
control of the activities which facilitate
exchange of goods and services
between producers or customers.
FOCUS
Focus of marketing
management is on achieving
desired exchange outcomes
with the target markets.
DEFINITION
Process of planning and executing the
conception,pricing,promotion and distribution of
ideas,goods and services to create exchanges that satisfy
individual and organizational goals.
AMERICAN MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION
PROCESS
Choosing a target market.
Marketer has to create demand
for his products so that the target
customers purchase the product
Marketing manager should create
superior values so that the
customers are attracted to the
products and services.
DEMAND
 Marketing management is generally related to
creation of demand. However in certain situations
,the manager has to restrict demand. For example, if
there is overfull demand.
 The job of marketing managers in such situation is ti
find ways to reduce demand by
*reducing the expenditure on promotion
*increasing the prices
 If the demand is irregular the marketers job is to
change the time pattern of demand .
