Thumbnail:
● Use the picture that I send in the email
○ if I send no picture, full screen the video, pause at a good shot of me
filming/showing something, screenshot it, crop it, put title on an area that does
not cover my face
● Suggestion for font: I used Marker Felt for the thumbnail for the “behind the scenes in
iproj meetings”.
○ The size will be depending on the length of the title and how much space you
have.
○ The color should be either WHITE or RED. If you choose red, it needs to be the
same shade as all the other videos. Whether it’s white or red will depend on the
darkness/brightness of the photo.
The Video File
The goal is to create a video file of 480p. If possible, Ex Comm team will try to make it 720p. At
the moment, prepare as if it will be 480p.

Posting on Wordpress
The post needs to include:
1. a short intro blurb
2. the video
3. tagging categories
Intro Blurb This will be provided in every email. You MUST reread it, and edit it for grammar or
spelling mistakes. If you notice that I say a word (e.x. ex comm, iproj, contingent, etc) that would
not make sense to external viewers AND i did not provide context/definition, be sure to explain it
in the intro blurb. ALL Intro blurbs will have the following at the end:
“Be sure to follow our website for daily updates like this video!”

Below, you can see the “text” version of the post. Copy the link for the video and paste the link
under the Intro Blurb.

● Manages and updates Vlog Content Matrix
Filmer: Cecilia ● Film the events that happen throughout the day
○ refer to Vlog Content Matrix for further details
NOTE: Remember that the focus of the vlogs is behind the
scenes, NOT what is actually happening (but there will be a
little bit of overlap)
Editor: Cecilia ● Edit video clips in order on iMovie
○ refer to Vlog Content Matrix for further details
● Use the sec/mins indicated on the VCM as an
approximate length for the video and how much the
footage will show for in the video
Approver: Darren and
Stephanie
● The main purpose of your role is to make sure
that the video is appropriate to post and to
ensure that the video is representative of 180th
● Ensures that the video shows the hard work that is
put into our service project
● Ensures that any R&R or ‘vacation like’ footage has
a purpose in the video and that it does not imply that
we are there for a holiday vacation
● Any Clarification on terms used
If all points are deemed okay (to any degree), then it is
approved.
Your main role is to APPROVE the video,
not to give feedback (although it is always
welcome).
Out of scope: reviewing quality of video, providing content
feedback for that specific video. You do not have to be
nitpicky on the videos
NOTE: Due to the nature of this type of content (videos) we
cannot add things in. If there are changes needed to videos,
8
9. we can only subtract clips.
If there are any comments on additional clips, it will be
considered for the following video but not the video in
review.
It is important to know the type of content you are reviewing.

13. show the staff/kids where we’re volunteering
Ask them to say hello to the camera, anything you want to say to the viewers?
Catch the contingent members in action of their service project
R&R:
This one is the most tricky because we DO NOT want to portray ourselves as having fun and
hardly working. Remember, we want to emphasize the service aspect of our trip. So things that
Cecilia can film are:
Ask Core Team (Anthony, Gloria, Tanya) what kind of work they put into planning
Why we’re doing R&R (‘first time since we relaxed since getting here!’)
Explain why this monument is important to the culture
What can we learn from R&R about the culture of Malaysia/Singapore?
Ask Tanya about her preparations for the Walking Tour
Hostels:
Showing the hostels is a great idea to show that we are not on vacation. We need to stay cheap
and since we’re traveling from place to place we stay at hostels. Potential things to film:
ironing clothes, why do we iron clothes?
packing
living arrangements, have you ever stayed at a hostel before?
showers
contingent meetings at the end
water runs
Miscellaneous:
Team Bonding Activities
why team bonding? What’s the importance
What activities? Explain persist necklace and secret angel
REMEMBER: REPRESENTATIVE OF SCOUTS CANADA AND HOW HARD WE WORK
Extra Videos
Before leaving, prepare one video in case Ex Comm becomes off grid. Suggestions are:
Introducing the Ex Comm Team
Introducing the Photography Team
After returning home, we can have a [cheesy] heart warming video:
If you could only use one word to describe your experience, what will it be?
Every contingent will say one word during the trip
make it cheesy AF.
