2. • The PDCA/PDSA cycle is a continuous loop of planning, doing,
checking (or studying), and acting. It provides a simple and
effective approach for solving problems and managing change. The
model is useful for testing improvement measures on a small scale
before updating procedures and working practices.
• The PDCA model is implemented to improve the quality of
effectiveness of processes within product lifecycle management,
project management, human resource management (HRM), supply
chain management (SCM), and many other areas of business.
• The PDCA model is also known as the Deming circle/cycle/wheel,
Shewart cycle, control circle/ cycle, or plan-do-study-act (PDSA).
