West Texas A&M University Canyon, TX
Biodiesel Plant Senior Design Project Fall 2015
In a group environment, designed & fabricated a custom-built, fully functioning, small-scale
biodiesel plant.
Researched by interviewing subject matter experts and touring a rendered animal fat biodiesel
plant.
Applied engineering knowledge and utilized critical thinking in resolving problems.
Used Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Computational Fluid Dynamics to run tests on potential
design materials where knowledge of raw material properties was needed to keep the design
safe for the user.
Planned the sequence of assembly to make the building process quick and efficient. Utilized
welding and fabrication skills to complete and assemble the design into a fully functioning
system.
Thermofluid Dynamics Research Project Fall 2015
Researched aspects of the efficiency differences between water and nanofluid.
Analyzed differences in efficiency using mathematical calculations to determine which cools
better.
Designed small scale heat exchanger for conducting experiments to observe changes in
temperatures and pressure between solutions.
Turning Target Machine Design Project Spring 2015
Fabricated and designed a 90 degree turning target to meet expectations for local campus
police force.
Analyzed fatigue points using Inventor and engineering calculations. Used CAD software to
check for part interference and test match parts to support others in the assembly. Applied
welding and fabrication skills to correctly assemble parts to form functional product.
