INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this e-learning course is to provide students
the ability to use video editing software tools and techniques
to edit and produce their own videos in a free software called
Shotcut. This software is available for download to anyone
that has access to the internet and an up-to-date computer.

• Describe the benefits of video-editing software and its

WHAT IS SHOTCUT?
Shotcut is a free, open source, cross-platform video editor.
It is available on MAC, PC, and Linux operating systems.
Current version is 22.11

  5. The shotcut website has a blog where they provide updates for software. The site also includes a page of tutorials that were either created by Shotcut or other users that link to various sites. Shotcut’s website also includes a resources page that provides royalty-free links to video, audio, and images on the web. Additionally, there is a forum for users to post questions and concerns from using the Shotcut software. The main link for Shotcut’s website is: www.shotcut.org You can also use the videos I have created and shared in the modules as well as YouTube resources I’ve shared in the modules to learn basic and advanced skills in Shotcut. If you chose to continue learning more about Shotcut and would like to receive this training from a Shotcut, the company does offer training for fee. In the introduction portion of this course, there are several handouts that provide different resources: glossary, keyboard shortcuts, and a royalty-free list of media sources, to name a few.
