It is my sincere pleasure to recommend Carlye Parker for any position that she pursues. Carlye
is a senior in the Recreation, Parks and Tourism Administration major with a specialization in
Event Planning and Management at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
As a Professor and the Department Head in the Recreation, Parks and Tourism Administration
Department I have interacted with Carlye regularly for nearly two years. She has served as a
student assistant for our department since December 2013. As you will see from Carlye’s
resume she has strategically gained substantial experience in event planning and experiential
marketing.
As an employee Caryle does an excellent job. She is an efficient and effective student assistant
who can be relied on to complete both simple and complex tasks. She has exceptional
organizational skills, is readily available to help with any task, and understands the necessity for
confidentiality and discreetness.
Caryle is also an outstanding student. She possesses excellent communication skills, is
dependable, and thinks critically about problems and issues. Her talents will benefit her
colleagues as her career progresses.
In 2014-15, Carlye served as the registration chair for our 2015 RPTA Department Auction and
Dinner Fundraiser. Caryle was up to speed in no time and was critical in developing the
smoothest registration and auction check out system that we have employed to date. In fact, she
was a key member of the team that led to a record in revenue over the 14 year history of the
event.
I sincerely believe that Carlye has the potential to not only be successful, but to be an
outstanding employee in the event planning industry. She has the ability to stay focused, work
diligently, and problem solve. In sum, Carlye receives my endorsement as a candidate for any
organization that is fortunate enough to secure her services.
