Editor's Notes

  1. Table of contents
  2. It is important for our students to be ready for the workforce. Even basic computer skills are necessary in today’s job market. Word processing, excel, and being effective internet researchers are just a few of the skills potential employers may look for.
  3. Adding technology to the classroom keeps our school district competitive with other districts. Our students can’t get behind.
  4. Adding technology to the classroom will help aid in the development of higher order thinking skills for the students and then they will also have the different technologies to investigate different problem solving strategies.
  5. Students like the technologies in the classroom because it is fun for them. And if they think the lesson is fun, then they are more engaged in learning, which in turn adds to the retention of the material presented.
  6. Currently in the middle schools we have different technologies already available. Some different programs to enhance lessons and then also different hardware options for presenting material.
  7. In conclusion adding technology is worth the investment because so much research supports the rate of student success both in the classroom and then in life.
