2. LOCATION #1 – THE RIVER SWALE
These 3 shots were all take next to the river swale in Richmond, however I used different angles and areas
along the river to manage to vary my shots and get completely different looking moments from one
another. Also I had Kitten (the female actor) to remove her jacket in one shot which creates a warmer
temperature to the shot and makes a complete different tone which helped to make it look like a complete
different location. These shots by the river were taken to be the Flashback shots in the music video which
is why I decided the river was a good location as it has natural bright lighting, its open and calming and
gives a much happier and relaxed feel to the shots.
3. LOCATION #2 – CASTLE WALK
I also used angles and different parts along the castle walk to get a wide variation of shots and moments
for the flashback shots. I also used different distances, for example I did a long shot for the first still and
mid shots for the 2nd and 3rd stills. I made sure that for each shot I had them doing different things and
sharing a different intimate moment each time again to give more variation in order to avoid repetition of
shots. I also made sure that the backgrounds of each shots are different. I felt that this location worked
really well for flashback shots as it was isolated so made the shots appear more intimate as they were
completely alone, also the natural lighting allowed the shots to be bright and match the expectation for
happy moments.
4. LOCATION #3 – RICHMOND SCHOOL
For our lip syncing we originally wanted to use a black wall as a background however we felt that as the
lip syncing moments are supposed to be more pop themed, black walls would be too dark. So we then
remembered this stone wall behind the back of our Sixth Form and thought that it would match very well
with the genre and style we wanted for these shots. We used different angles and positions so that there
was slight variation to keep the shots interesting for the audience however they are all still very similar.
5. LOCATION #4 – KITTENS HOUSE
All of the abusive scenes were all filmed at Kitten’s house (the female actor) which meant we had to use
many different rooms and areas of the house in order to vary the scenes and find many opportunities of
representing abuse. So we used her front garden, back garden, stairs, bedroom, living room and kitchen.
All of these locations worked well as they were dark and quite isolated which created a claustrophobic
feel.
