2. Introduction
These are tumors arising from the
uterine corpus(body)
Incidence highly dependent on age
Mean age of diagnosis is 62 years
75% of uterine cancers occurs in post-
menopausal women

3. Types
Endometrial carcinoma
 Originate from the endometrium
 Most common(95%)
Sarcomas
 Arise from myometrium
 very rare(5%)

5. High estrogen levels
Obesity(androgens aromatization)
Diabetes (insulin,ILF)
Tamoxifen( Selective estrogen
Receptor Modulator)
Lynch Syndrome
Risk factors

6. Staging
Determined by MRI and FIGO
Patients with high grade tumor undergo CT
scan of chest, abdomen and pelvis to exclude
distant metastases

8. Sarcomas
Types:
1.Endometrial stromal tumors
2.Carcinosarcoma
3.Leiomyosarcoma
