Cornell Mission Statement
As the eldest son of first generation immigrants, the stimulus to create an elitist academic attitude was prevalent even in the games I played as a child.
My first encounter with business began with Reader Rabbit, a cartoon hare that brought me along with him on his journey through Wordville. Together,
we stumbled upon a sandwich shop, posed with the dilemma of making change for a customer. My mother guided me through the steps, defined the
denominations of each coin, and explained the simple arithmetic involved in the purchase of a sandwich. Reader Rabbit and I visited the shop many
more times over the course of our adventure, developing my love for business management at a young age.

At CALS, I will be sure to make use of the vast amount of resources on campus to further not only my academic, but artistic endeavors. Home to over
twenty libraries, there will be virtually no limit to advance my education and satisfy the appetite of my academic fervor. In addition, Lincoln Hall will
allow me to share my love of music with my peers. As the current tenor section leader of the Stuyvesant Chorus, I am confident that being afforded the
opportunity to sing with the brightest minds in the nation will give rise to a new era of harmonious

Why Attend Cornell Essay
When I visited Cornell's campus, I adored the relaxing scenery and sounds of the waterfalls. But that is not the only reason I want to attend Cornell.
My interest in studying at the College of Arts and Sciences rooted from my desire to explore all the possibilities – from chemistry to economics to arts
– of my undergraduate career.
The Arts and Sciences curriculum is especially attractive to me, given the diversity of my interests. No matter what major I eventually pursue, the
well–rounded liberal arts education I receive would provide me with the depth of knowledge and an all–inclusive range of skills. The curriculum's
concentration in providing its graduates with the ability to examine intellectual concepts in a real world context, in addition to analytical...show more

Although my exposure to economics consists of only two introductory classes, I am fascinated by the allocation of resources, through people's
incentives, to reach an equilibrium. From the specialized courses offered, I hope to obtain an understanding of the global economy and apply these

Cornell Argument Essay
Attending the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University has always been a goal for me in pursuing my target of becoming a
nutritional scientist. I grew up in traditional Chinese education, the first poem I learned is called "Commiseration for the Peasants" written by Shen
Li. This poem conveys the idea that foods don't come easily, people should respect the work of farmers. This really connects to me because both my
grandparents and my aunts are farmers. I had once experienced their job when I was a third grader in elementary school. This experience let me set my
mind of studying agriculture.
It's a hot afternoon, the temperature outside is over 100–degree Fahrenheit. The sun shines everywhere, I can barely step outside of my house. I thought
I would be burned to death if I stay out for one than a minute. However, my aunt sets a good example for me. She grabs her hat and walked out of the
house without saying anything. Her action...show more content...
To be honest, the first thing I know about Cornell University is the excellent food they have. However, I had done many research about Cornell
University. Therefore, I believe Cornell's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences will provide the strongest academic support I need to achieve
my goals. Moreover, the Health and Nutrition Society allows me to have the opportunities to gain more experience and train my ability to
cooperative with different types of people. Strong academic bases, ample opportunities, and unlimited possibilities are very essential parts in
achieving my goal. Cornell University has the highest levels of proficiency that has no doubt will establish my knowledge with a solid root. Enough
opportunities offer me a great platform I need to pursue my dream. Endless possibilities provide me the chance to challenge myself. Life is all about
challenging and improvements, I will discover my values at Cornell University. I love Cornell

My Interest In Transferring To Cornell University
Although I no longer have an interest in majoring in an academic science, I still have an interest in attaining a significant and thorough education in
the sciences such as biology and physics. Cornell allows me to do just that, and that is what the basis of higher education is. College is a place where
you attain the skills necessary to enter into a career filed while expanding upon your current interest while developing new ones. Transferring to Cornell
University allows me the opportunity to become a successful student in an _____ intellectual environment. The programs offered by this university
allow me to fulfil my career, social and extracurricular oriented interest.

Cornell University Application Essay
Cornell University presents me with a gratifying challenge, and challenges are what push me to succeed. The rigorous yet rewarding College of Arts
and Sciences was my main impetus in applying to Cornell University. The strength of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology initially
drew me to Cornell University because of its interfaced ties to the other sciences, and its determination to educate students by providing them with
hands–on learning. By the end of this academic year, I will finish all of the advanced placement science courses offered by my school, and I realized,
during both the honors and advanced placement chemistry courses, that I am very passionate about chemistry. My enthusiasm for the subject material
grows from every net ionic equation to each drawing of a molecule....show more content...
Also, the College of Arts and Sciences not only has accomplished professors, but also contains the technology that allows students to engage in the
hands–on aspect of learning. Cornell takes on the task of familiarizing their students to the manual application of researching, which is an important
aspect that would provide me with the means to extend my knowledge very early on. Similarly, I appreciate Cornell University's plethora of
opportunities to students at the Mellon College of Arts and Sciences. With a plenitude of course opportunities, Cornell University is second to none in
providing the most adaptable course choices to fit their students' interests. I am comforted to know that I can choose to follow Chemistry as my major,
and I can also take electives to venture further in depth in the subject, like chemical biology or organic and polymer

Admission To Cornell Essay
After my first visit to Ithaca during my junior year, I knew I wanted to attend Cornell University. When it didn't work out the first time around I was
determined to move forward, but I couldn't; I still wanted to be an Applied Economics and Management Major at Cornell. Now that I am unhappy with
my current education, I am pursuing admission to Cornell again. More specifically, my goal is to concentrate in finance, where I can have a positive
impact on companies, industries, or even society. My past experiences, including internships and extracurricular activities, have introduced me to
finance, where I plan to build my education. By interning for a wealth management firm I was able to experience the positive impacts of business first
hand. The feeling of completing meaningful work that helped individuals and small businesses prepare for future success had a heavy impact on me. I
realized how important investing and financial planning are for a meaningful future, and it determined me to...show more content...

fundamentals of financial research and modeling. Experiencing this success made me realize the influential attributes of business. In addition, my role
as a consultant in a club designed to help non–profit organizations also showed me how the work of finance and money management could benefit
individuals and businesses, thus solidifying my interest in the field. I knew, however, that if I wanted to help as many people as possible financially,
my current institution would not suffice my future goals. Cornell, on the other hand, has all the resources to enhance my specific academic

Personal Narrative: My Cornell Journey
My Cornell journey started 1.5 years back when my husband decided to apply at Johnson. I have lived the Cornell dream with him, starting with his
first day and then attending multiple events commuting from Mexico along with my job. During my entire experience, I have interacted with both the
AMBA's and two year students and have gained multiple insights into the Johnson community. One cannot help but fall in love with the campus,
student vibe, late night study hours, socials, treks, and so on. Impressed by the Cornell life, I applied for JWIB 2016 and was lucky to be invited to
attend the two day session. It was a real breather for me and the complete experience was exhilarating. The management and the students were very
welcoming and yet

Personal Narrative: My Stay At Cornell
During my stay at Cornell this summer, I was exhausted every day––my life was basically filled with group projects, art critiques, reading homework,

Cornell Personal Statement
As a child, I ate bitter watermelon seeds, hoping melons would thrive inside my stomach if I just consumed enough handfuls of dirt to keep them
alive. Distressed by my new diet, my father handed me a shovel & I began digging holes in my backyard. Every Sunday afternoon since, I find solace
in the community garden where I escape the burdens of college applications, spend time with my family, & relax. Through gardening, I understood the
necessity to reduce deleterious carbon emissions & embrace environmental sustainability. At Cornell, I intend to study environmental chemistry to
combat climate change & secure a better, pollution free future for my plants.

When I visited Cornell, the enthusiasm in the Organic Chemistry students highlighted the effectiveness of an education grounded in exploration;
Cornell undergraduates aren't spoonfed knowledge, but are encouraged to pursue their unique passions, learn through failure, & think critically.
Along with environmental chemistry, I am very excited to learn Spanish in the College of A&S under Cornell's department of Romance Languages.
Before taking the AP Spanish test, my teacher forced us to take an AP exam everyday & speak only in Spanish. The language was so ingrained that I
even dreamed in Spanish; however, I didn't complain because, in those dreams, the girls were much prettier. Since both my grandparents died before I
got to visit them in Pakistan two summers ago & my parents don't typically share their childhood stories, unless we garden, Spanish provides me a
culture & heritage I can attach myself to. At Cornell, I want to continue building my cross–cultural heritage by participating in the Cantabria Exchange
Program, where I can study artificial photosynthesis abroad & combine my passions for nature with Spanish. In addition to my chemistry coursework,
in Spain, I will implement my knowledge of environmental chemistry to serve the community by installing energy efficient solar panels to homes near

Weill Cornell Case Study
I chose to apply to Weill Cornell because I place a high value on human advancement through research and community engagement. Growing up as an
immigrant, I used to long for the traditional American Dream of a normal suburban life. This is no longer the case as I recognize that this "dream"
ignores the realities of poverty and inequality that are more present in urban communities. I believe that Weill Cornell can provide the space and
resources to combine my interest in research with my motivation to address these inequalities. I admire that at Weill Cornell there is a commitment
from both the institution as well as the student body to address health care disparities. This is evident in student run programs such as the Weill Cornell

I've always known that I wanted to defend those who could not defend themselves. Maybe it's the result of being the oldest sibling, or maybe it's
the result of having to see my parents belittled because they were poor immigrants. Whatever the reason may be, I've never liked seeing people
get knocked down by others. We live in a world that is constantly evolving to include more and more human interaction. A world that is quickly
becoming more globalized and while that prospect excites me, it also fills me with a slight sense of dread. Dread because what if we can't get
along, work together and strive for better for the entire population then what good will globalization be? In a world that is quickly deeming a Liberal
Arts education as ineffectual, I stand beside it with a fierce determination to prove that assessment wrong. Liberal Arts, a general knowledge of the
world is important. I cannot defend those who I do not understand. I can not understand if I do not think beyond utility or if it benefits, this ideology
of what can you do for me in return for my assistance. I look to Cornell...show more content...

incredibly interesting to me and I would love to be able to contribute to the

Cornell: Personal Statement Of Purpose
I am a student with so many interests that they cannot all be listed in such a short paper, but if I were to chose three of my main interests, they
would be Photography, Engineering, and helping people. These three passions of mine help me get through my daily life and keep me interested in
learning. Every week, I alternate my focus from one field to one of the other two to ensure that I do not lose any information and to keep up with the
most current news in each field. Cornell will help me achieve my goals and will help me pursue my passions just as much as I will help Cornell with
my uniqueness and my passion for education.
Since the time that I was born, I was always convinced by my family that I needed to go into the medical field and become a world–renowned surgeon.

have become very interested in designing 3D sketches of models and printing them on a 3D printer we have at my high school. I have successfully
printed six models so far and plan to keep that number growing. Cornell will be able to help me pursue my passion for engineering because of its vast
population of students. There are so many determined students at Cornell who would be able to help me learn so much more about this field, that it
would make it an honor to attend among these future leaders and

Using The Cornell Method
3. Explain which strategy you are using and why you are using it. Reason why I used the Cornell method is because I can take note and recall key
words at the same time. I can take note while I'm reading and this is good too because I can quickly refer back to paragraph and summarize it
immediately. 5. Explain how the note taking strategy selected would help you prepare for an exam? I will take record in my note–taking column while
I read, then I will concentrate my ideas down to simple words so I can recall the whole picture with a quick review. In the end I will summarize my
understanding in my own words, this helps me review and critical thinking. Before taking an exam, I can try recall my memory just looking at recall
column. Note and cues

Why I Chose To Study At Cornell
Cornell university
Tell us what you'd like to major in at Cornell, and why or how your past academic or work experience influenced your decision, and how transferring
to Cornell would further your academic interests. (650 words.)
After finishing one–year study in university, I am more confident that Applied Mathematics is the ultimate major for me. I have been contacted with
diverse fields since my school year started.
As a result, it is easy for me to tell the differences or connections between different subjects. What attracts me most when I study Math is that I enjoy
the process of fighting with problems that were originated from the reality. It is pressure–relief to solving an intractable problem step by step. During my
high school, my Math teacher was not humorous but extremely responsible. To be more specific, he treated every single concept seriously and tried to
explain it in more details in order to help students build solid foundations. He required students to understand the meanings behind the theories instead
of obtaining the best scores. His strict altitudes towards Math has influenced me in a long term. I changed my view of Math and no longer treat it as a
simple subject....show more content...
This working experience has led me to think deeply about the role of Math in real applications. In fact, it is no exaggeration to say that Math,
associated with other subject, is deeply involved in this field. For example, mathematical calculations and expressions are everywhere in the building
system. Especially in the department of finance, employees are equipped with advanced knowledge of Math, as they are supposed to become familiar
with every income and expenditure and categorize them according to specified rules.
There are countless people asking me that "What is Math exactly", my answer is "Math is life; life is Math". In other words, exploring Math is
equivalent to discover the life

I am very interested in attending Cornell's College of Agriculture and Life sciences and pursuing a major in Biology and Society. Pursuing this major
allows me to incorporate a passion of mine, Biology, in the context of the sociocultural forces it is sure to be applied in. This is not only intellectually
stimulating but also relevant to my upbringing. I am a Modern Orthodox Jew and have grown up in a community governed by strict cultural laws.
While the preservation of life under Jewish law is regarded as the top priority, the application of necessary health care must be reconciled with values
(for example modesty) that a strictly secular physician would not naturally consider. Attending a dual curriculum high–school has further deepened my
understanding of the sensitivities and needs of my specific community. For the past four years, I have devoted half of my school day to of traditional
general studies, and the other half, to discussing and reviewing the philosophy, ethics, and reasoning behind secular and Jewish Law. This, combined
with the urge to get to the bottom of things, wether that be the basic chemical interactions and...show more content...

I am writing to express my sincere interest in applying for the Head Coach of Men's Soccer at Cornell University. My extensive coaching background

I started my coaching career after I graduated college. My first job was at The University of North Carolina Charlotte where the team made the

Cornell Mission Statement

  • 1. Cornell Mission Statement As the eldest son of first generation immigrants, the stimulus to create an elitist academic attitude was prevalent even in the games I played as a child. My first encounter with business began with Reader Rabbit, a cartoon hare that brought me along with him on his journey through Wordville. Together, we stumbled upon a sandwich shop, posed with the dilemma of making change for a customer. My mother guided me through the steps, defined the denominations of each coin, and explained the simple arithmetic involved in the purchase of a sandwich. Reader Rabbit and I visited the shop many more times over the course of our adventure, developing my love for business management at a young age. The Charles Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management...show more content... At CALS, I will be sure to make use of the vast amount of resources on campus to further not only my academic, but artistic endeavors. Home to over twenty libraries, there will be virtually no limit to advance my education and satisfy the appetite of my academic fervor. In addition, Lincoln Hall will allow me to share my love of music with my peers. As the current tenor section leader of the Stuyvesant Chorus, I am confident that being afforded the opportunity to sing with the brightest minds in the nation will give rise to a new era of harmonious Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Why Attend Cornell Essay When I visited Cornell's campus, I adored the relaxing scenery and sounds of the waterfalls. But that is not the only reason I want to attend Cornell. My interest in studying at the College of Arts and Sciences rooted from my desire to explore all the possibilities – from chemistry to economics to arts – of my undergraduate career. The Arts and Sciences curriculum is especially attractive to me, given the diversity of my interests. No matter what major I eventually pursue, the well–rounded liberal arts education I receive would provide me with the depth of knowledge and an all–inclusive range of skills. The curriculum's concentration in providing its graduates with the ability to examine intellectual concepts in a real world context, in addition to analytical...show more content... • 3. Cornell Argument Essay Attending the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University has always been a goal for me in pursuing my target of becoming a nutritional scientist. I grew up in traditional Chinese education, the first poem I learned is called "Commiseration for the Peasants" written by Shen Li. This poem conveys the idea that foods don't come easily, people should respect the work of farmers. This really connects to me because both my grandparents and my aunts are farmers. I had once experienced their job when I was a third grader in elementary school. This experience let me set my mind of studying agriculture. It's a hot afternoon, the temperature outside is over 100–degree Fahrenheit. The sun shines everywhere, I can barely step outside of my house. I thought I would be burned to death if I stay out for one than a minute. However, my aunt sets a good example for me. She grabs her hat and walked out of the house without saying anything. Her action...show more content... To be honest, the first thing I know about Cornell University is the excellent food they have. However, I had done many research about Cornell University. Therefore, I believe Cornell's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences will provide the strongest academic support I need to achieve my goals. Moreover, the Health and Nutrition Society allows me to have the opportunities to gain more experience and train my ability to cooperative with different types of people. Strong academic bases, ample opportunities, and unlimited possibilities are very essential parts in achieving my goal. Cornell University has the highest levels of proficiency that has no doubt will establish my knowledge with a solid root. Enough opportunities offer me a great platform I need to pursue my dream. Endless possibilities provide me the chance to challenge myself. Life is all about challenging and improvements, I will discover my values at Cornell University. • 4. My Interest In Transferring To Cornell University Although I no longer have an interest in majoring in an academic science, I still have an interest in attaining a significant and thorough education in the sciences such as biology and physics. Cornell allows me to do just that, and that is what the basis of higher education is. College is a place where you attain the skills necessary to enter into a career filed while expanding upon your current interest while developing new ones. Transferring to Cornell University allows me the opportunity to become a successful student in an _____ intellectual environment. • 5. Cornell University Application Essay Cornell University presents me with a gratifying challenge, and challenges are what push me to succeed. The rigorous yet rewarding College of Arts and Sciences was my main impetus in applying to Cornell University. The strength of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology initially drew me to Cornell University because of its interfaced ties to the other sciences, and its determination to educate students by providing them with hands–on learning. By the end of this academic year, I will finish all of the advanced placement science courses offered by my school, and I realized, during both the honors and advanced placement chemistry courses, that I am very passionate about chemistry. My enthusiasm for the subject material grows from every net ionic equation to each drawing of a molecule....show more content... Also, the College of Arts and Sciences not only has accomplished professors, but also contains the technology that allows students to engage in the hands–on aspect of learning. Cornell takes on the task of familiarizing their students to the manual application of researching, which is an important aspect that would provide me with the means to extend my knowledge very early on. Similarly, I appreciate Cornell University's plethora of opportunities to students at the Mellon College of Arts and Sciences. With a plenitude of course opportunities, Cornell University is second to none in providing the most adaptable course choices to fit their students' interests. I am comforted to know that I can choose to follow Chemistry as my major, and I can also take electives to venture further in depth in the subject, like chemical biology or organic and polymer Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Admission To Cornell Essay After my first visit to Ithaca during my junior year, I knew I wanted to attend Cornell University. When it didn't work out the first time around I was determined to move forward, but I couldn't; I still wanted to be an Applied Economics and Management Major at Cornell. Now that I am unhappy with my current education, I am pursuing admission to Cornell again. More specifically, my goal is to concentrate in finance, where I can have a positive impact on companies, industries, or even society. My past experiences, including internships and extracurricular activities, have introduced me to finance, where I plan to build my education. By interning for a wealth management firm I was able to experience the positive impacts of business first hand. The feeling of completing meaningful work that helped individuals and small businesses prepare for future success had a heavy impact on me. I realized how important investing and financial planning are for a meaningful future, and it determined me to...show more content... Experiencing this success made me realize the influential attributes of business. In addition, my role as a consultant in a club designed to help non–profit organizations also showed me how the work of finance and money management could benefit individuals and businesses, thus solidifying my interest in the field. I knew, however, that if I wanted to help as many people as possible financially, my current institution would not suffice my future goals. • 7. Personal Narrative: My Cornell Journey My Cornell journey started 1.5 years back when my husband decided to apply at Johnson. I have lived the Cornell dream with him, starting with his first day and then attending multiple events commuting from Mexico along with my job. During my entire experience, I have interacted with both the AMBA's and two year students and have gained multiple insights into the Johnson community. One cannot help but fall in love with the campus, student vibe, late night study hours, socials, treks, and so on. Impressed by the Cornell life, I applied for JWIB 2016 and was lucky to be invited to attend the two day session. It was a real breather for me and the complete experience was exhilarating. • 8. Personal Narrative: My Stay At Cornell During my stay at Cornell this summer, I was exhausted every day––my life was basically filled with group projects, art critiques, reading homework, social activities, and filed trips. • 9. Cornell Personal Statement As a child, I ate bitter watermelon seeds, hoping melons would thrive inside my stomach if I just consumed enough handfuls of dirt to keep them alive. Distressed by my new diet, my father handed me a shovel & I began digging holes in my backyard. Every Sunday afternoon since, I find solace in the community garden where I escape the burdens of college applications, spend time with my family, & relax. Through gardening, I understood the necessity to reduce deleterious carbon emissions & embrace environmental sustainability. At Cornell, I intend to study environmental chemistry to combat climate change & secure a better, pollution free future for my plants. When I visited Cornell, the enthusiasm in the Organic Chemistry students highlighted the effectiveness of an education grounded in exploration; Cornell undergraduates aren't spoonfed knowledge, but are encouraged to pursue their unique passions, learn through failure, & think critically. Along with environmental chemistry, I am very excited to learn Spanish in the College of A&S under Cornell's department of Romance Languages. Before taking the AP Spanish test, my teacher forced us to take an AP exam everyday & speak only in Spanish. The language was so ingrained that I even dreamed in Spanish; however, I didn't complain because, in those dreams, the girls were much prettier. Since both my grandparents died before I got to visit them in Pakistan two summers ago & my parents don't typically share their childhood stories, unless we garden, Spanish provides me a culture & heritage I can attach myself to. At Cornell, I want to continue building my cross–cultural heritage by participating in the Cantabria Exchange Program, where I can study artificial photosynthesis abroad & combine my passions for nature with Spanish. In addition to my chemistry coursework, in Spain, I will implement my knowledge of environmental chemistry to serve the community by installing energy efficient solar panels to homes near the University of Cantabria as Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Weill Cornell Case Study I chose to apply to Weill Cornell because I place a high value on human advancement through research and community engagement. Growing up as an immigrant, I used to long for the traditional American Dream of a normal suburban life. This is no longer the case as I recognize that this "dream" ignores the realities of poverty and inequality that are more present in urban communities. I believe that Weill Cornell can provide the space and resources to combine my interest in research with my motivation to address these inequalities. I admire that at Weill Cornell there is a commitment from both the institution as well as the student body to address health care disparities. This is evident in student run programs such as the Weill Cornell Community Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Cornell Scholarship Essay I've always known that I wanted to defend those who could not defend themselves. Maybe it's the result of being the oldest sibling, or maybe it's the result of having to see my parents belittled because they were poor immigrants. Whatever the reason may be, I've never liked seeing people get knocked down by others. We live in a world that is constantly evolving to include more and more human interaction. A world that is quickly becoming more globalized and while that prospect excites me, it also fills me with a slight sense of dread. Dread because what if we can't get along, work together and strive for better for the entire population then what good will globalization be? In a world that is quickly deeming a Liberal Arts education as ineffectual, I stand beside it with a fierce determination to prove that assessment wrong. Liberal Arts, a general knowledge of the world is important. I cannot defend those who I do not understand. I can not understand if I do not think beyond utility or if it benefits, this ideology of what can you do for me in return for my assistance. I look to Cornell...show more content... • 12. Cornell: Personal Statement Of Purpose I am a student with so many interests that they cannot all be listed in such a short paper, but if I were to chose three of my main interests, they would be Photography, Engineering, and helping people. These three passions of mine help me get through my daily life and keep me interested in learning. Every week, I alternate my focus from one field to one of the other two to ensure that I do not lose any information and to keep up with the most current news in each field. Cornell will help me achieve my goals and will help me pursue my passions just as much as I will help Cornell with my uniqueness and my passion for education. Since the time that I was born, I was always convinced by my family that I needed to go into the medical field and become a world–renowned surgeon. Over the past three months, I have become very interested in designing 3D sketches of models and printing them on a 3D printer we have at my high school. I have successfully printed six models so far and plan to keep that number growing. Cornell will be able to help me pursue my passion for engineering because of its vast population of students. • 13. Using The Cornell Method 3. Explain which strategy you are using and why you are using it. Reason why I used the Cornell method is because I can take note and recall key words at the same time. I can take note while I'm reading and this is good too because I can quickly refer back to paragraph and summarize it immediately. 5. Explain how the note taking strategy selected would help you prepare for an exam? I will take record in my note–taking column while I read, then I will concentrate my ideas down to simple words so I can recall the whole picture with a quick review. In the end I will summarize my understanding in my own words, this helps me review and critical thinking. Before taking an exam, I can try recall my memory just looking at recall column. • 14. Why I Chose To Study At Cornell Cornell university Tell us what you'd like to major in at Cornell, and why or how your past academic or work experience influenced your decision, and how transferring to Cornell would further your academic interests. (650 words.) After finishing one–year study in university, I am more confident that Applied Mathematics is the ultimate major for me. I have been contacted with diverse fields since my school year started. As a result, it is easy for me to tell the differences or connections between different subjects. What attracts me most when I study Math is that I enjoy the process of fighting with problems that were originated from the reality. It is pressure–relief to solving an intractable problem step by step. During my high school, my Math teacher was not humorous but extremely responsible. To be more specific, he treated every single concept seriously and tried to explain it in more details in order to help students build solid foundations. He required students to understand the meanings behind the theories instead of obtaining the best scores. His strict altitudes towards Math has influenced me in a long term. I changed my view of Math and no longer treat it as a simple subject....show more content... This working experience has led me to think deeply about the role of Math in real applications. In fact, it is no exaggeration to say that Math, associated with other subject, is deeply involved in this field. For example, mathematical calculations and expressions are everywhere in the building system. Especially in the department of finance, employees are equipped with advanced knowledge of Math, as they are supposed to become familiar with every income and expenditure and categorize them according to specified rules. There are countless people asking me that "What is Math exactly", my answer is "Math is life; life is Math". In other words, exploring Math is equivalent to discover the life Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. High School Admission Essay Sample I am very interested in attending Cornell's College of Agriculture and Life sciences and pursuing a major in Biology and Society. Pursuing this major allows me to incorporate a passion of mine, Biology, in the context of the sociocultural forces it is sure to be applied in. This is not only intellectually stimulating but also relevant to my upbringing. I am a Modern Orthodox Jew and have grown up in a community governed by strict cultural laws. While the preservation of life under Jewish law is regarded as the top priority, the application of necessary health care must be reconciled with values (for example modesty) that a strictly secular physician would not naturally consider. Attending a dual curriculum high–school has further deepened my understanding of the sensitivities and needs of my specific community. For the past four years, I have devoted half of my school day to of traditional general studies, and the other half, to discussing and reviewing the philosophy, ethics, and reasoning behind secular and Jewish Law. Cornell offers opportunities which I know can lead me to a fulfilling life. Two aspects of Cornell that specifically allure me to its undergraduate education are its revolutionary research facilities and its pathway for physicians. First, in the summer of my junior year I was fascinated by one of the most complex organs of the human body, the brain. Whether it was books on Alzheimer's or studies published on the brain's capacity, this organ never ceased to amaze me. At this level of excitement I began to proactively look into neurology labs. I emailed over hundreds of researchers who had labs in which I was interested in. After looking Get more content on HelpWriting.net
