Abortion Argumentative Analysis
In 1973, Roe vs. Wade was adopted legalizing abortion in all 50 states and since then there have been more than 50 million abortions in the United
States (Ertelt, S., 2013). The Supreme Court decided that women have the right to have an abortion. The Guttmacher Institue (AGI) and Centers for
Disease Control (CDC) provide statistical data relative to abortions (Abort73.com, 2009). Reporting abortion is not mandatory but the CDC said there
was approximately 1.06 million performed in 2011 with 34% being teenagers between 15–19 years of age. The CDC also reports over 31.3% of
teenagers between the ages of 15–19 gave birth in 2011 (Martin, Joyce et al, 2013).

Some of the views that anti–abortionist argue that life begins at conception, it is illegal to intentionally kill another human, pregnancy is 100%
preventable and minors are not being properly educated on the effects and alternatives to abortion. Life comes from procreation between two humans.
There is no other way to create life. When human beings mate and...show more content...
Teenagers are not taught about abortion in schools, so most of what is learned is from friends, biased experiences of activist groups or family. The
depth of these shared experiences can vary from individual to individual. Most teenagers don't think they will get pregnant, until it happens. After an
abortion, the experience does not end there. They may have psychological issues regarding morality and if they made the right decision, and a lot of
"what if" questions when exploring the unknown when they become older. This also has a tendency to lead to substance abuse and sexual promiscuity
due to ineffective coping skills. Some of the medical risks of abortions may not be apparent immediately afterwards. Some of those risks include
infection, uterine damage, future conception difficulties, certain cancers and even

An Argument Against Abortion
"Baby" means "a very young child, especially one newly or recently born." (Google) So when people say abortion is wrong because you're killing a
baby, it would be incorrect. What you would be killing is called a fetus. The thing you would be killing wouldn't have a recollection (memories) of
life, let alone miss it. Abortion is performed in the first 24 weeks of life, out of 40 weeks.
I'm not saying abortion is right in every case, but what if you were pregnant with a baby of your rapist. You wouldn't want to have the baby. You
could be 13 years old and pregnant. So many things could go wrong, maybe the baby would have a deformed face, an extra limb, or it has a deadly
disease. That's why I'm pro–choice, meaning I think that it depends...show more content...
Some people may say that sounds harsh, to be honest it is. But it's true. There are some true points that people make that oppose abortion, but there are
more reasons that support it. Individual rights and common good play a big role in whether abortion is ok or not.
Another argument against abortion is that it should be a state right to determine whether it is right or not. It's not really a state right to control people.
America is "the land of the free." So if you're going to restrict someone from abortion even if the woman is going to die from the birth that is murder.
Common good is whether an idea or action will intrude on everyone else. Individual rights are the right to pursue life and goals without interference
from other individuals or the government life. So an example of the common good is the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The
constitution and the bill of rights don't apply to non–citizens. The individual rights are about the mother being able to have an abortion if she has a good

The Argument Against Abortion
In our society, everyone has their own opinion about everything. This topic just so happens to be one of those. Abortion is a very touchy subject to
some people. Some people are pro–choice, others are pro–life. Some are caught in the middle. Some people think depending on the situation, it should
be okay. People base their opinions on their religion, race, culture, political views, and how they were raised. I was raised pro–life depending on the
situation. Pro–choice means it is the mother's choice to get an abortion. Pro–life means they are completely against abortion. Is it a living person?
Should it be illegal? Is it okay depending on the situation? Everyone has a different opinion. Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy. Abortions

Argumentative Essay On Anti Abortion
Currently there are many controversial issues in the world, but one of the most famous talked about issues is abortion. There are always two sides to
every argument and in this issue both sides have very compelling points to their arguments. On the one hand, there is the prochoice movement in which
people believe women have the right to choose if they keep their fetus or not. Anti–abortion is the other movement in which people believe the fetus
has a right to live. Like many controversial issues no one can say for sure that their argument is right and the other is wrong.
Anti–Abortion
A mother wakes in a hospital room only hours after giving birth to her newborn infant. She turns over in her bed slowly because the pain from her
Cesarean is unbearable. She reaches over and grabs her newly born infant and starts ripping its limbs off. Although that might seem graphic, the
question is, is she committing murder or is it her choice. The obvious answer would be murder, but why would you believe it is murder and not her
right to terminate the infant's life. According to Webster's Dictionary life is defined as the quality that distinguishes a vital and functional being from a
dead body, and those qualities can be simple things like a heartbeat or brain function. Anti–abortion believers feel that a fetus should be considered a life
or human being which would...show more content...
In all truthfulness if you look at the facts abortion should be considered murder. Just because the fetuses are in a woman's body does not mean those
fetuses should have less rights then a one day old infant. Yes, the uterus is part of a woman's body, but the fetus itself is a body which means it
should have the right to live. There is already so much death in the world, we as human beings should not be killing innocent fetuses that probably
could be the very lives who help save this

Argumentative Essay Abortion
Have you ever considered legalizing abortion in the country? Do you think it's a good idea to take an innocent life? Do you think it's right to take
away privileges from an innocent child? Absolutely not! I strongly believe that legalizing abortion will allow individuals to avoid handling
responsibilities, and take away innocent lives for no apparent reason.
In this argumentative essay, I would be arguing against legalizing abortion in the country. The negative consequences and impacts from abortion is so
enormous that it can't be overemphasized. One of the greatest problem of legal abortion is the horrifying inhumane prospect of 'abortions on demand' at
any point in pregnancy. I strongly believe every unborn child have a right to live. And the termination of this unborn child willingly for whatever
reason can only be murder. The rate of abortion in the united states per live birth as of 2015 is 12.1 abortions per 1,000 live births of women between
the ages of 15 and 44. According to statistical medical records, the high abortion rate was mostly recorded among women in their 40's.
In the legal aspect "unlawful killing of a human being" with some level of intent. California law includes "a deliberate intention unlawfully to take
away the life of a fellow creature." The only thing preventing abortion from being included in the definition of murder is that it's currently not
"unlawful." But basic science proves that an unborn child is a "human being." No mention of

Argumentative Speech On Abortion
How many of you would like to be forced into doing something against your will, only because of the fear that society will judge you? How many of
you, have heard a woman talk about her abortion experience? My guess, is nobody. Today, I'm here to talk about abortions and how political and
societal barriers affect every woman's choice at some point. When it comes to abortion, people have a difference of opinion. There are pro–life
supporters and pro–choice supporters. People that are pro–choice, believe that women have the right to choose. Abortion is legal in Canada, yet no
woman will openly talk about it, as society has labeled abortion as a subject everyone should stay silent about. This all comes down to one problem;
societal and political barriers that still exist within our country. There are many issues that surround the idea of abortion, such as, young girls and
women being degraded for getting pregnant and choosing abortion, students being taught that abortion is a sin, Canada lacking in the number of
doctors that can provide the abortion pills to patients, and denied abortions being directly linked to suicide.
Firstly, I'd like to start off by talking about how big of a threat society can be to us. But today, I'm focusing specifically on how it affects women
and how it will affect everyone sitting in this room. A woman can have multiple reasons for wanting an abortion. She may not be able to survive
the pregnancy, she may have been raped, there may be family pressure to get an abortion, the child may be born with a birth defect, the mother
may not be able to support the child, or she may want to focus on her career. ("Abortion"). Society will overlook those reasons and judge her
nevertheless. People will say things like "She should keep the baby." or "She shouldn't get an abortion because it's selfish." Why can't a woman
choose what she does with her body without being judged or pressurized? It's her body. Her mind. Her life. And ultimately it is her choice. So why
should we judge her at all? Getting an abortion isn't an easy decision to make, so why make someone's life harder if we can't make it any easier or
any better? Not only that but a couple years ago, I watched a speech about why it's better

Argumentative Essay On Abortion
Abortion
Abortion is a highly debated topic that has been highly controversial, especially in recent times. Pro–life, Right To Life, and other anti–abortion groups
are fighting to deprive women of a basic medical procedure that should be available to all women. Abortions should be provided and available to all
women who wish to get them, and even to those who don't.
Peter Singer said it best: "We have no obligation to allow every being with the potential to become a rational being to realize that potential." What
Peter means is that women do not have to carry a pregnancy to term. At any point, if there are complications, any danger, or threat to the mother, they
should be able to stop it. The fallacy of many arguments is equating the rights of a fetus to those of a grown woman, whom is obviously more valuable
and useful. The retort to that is why should the fetus' ability to become self–aware and aborting it before it is self–aware make it wrong? Any rational
woman has domain over any being who isn't yet aware of its existence, it is a simple fact.
Although abortion should be a right, the issue is also taxes and how they could help. Over 22 percent of America's taxes goes to cover healthcare.
Adding funding for abortion wouldn't cause a noticeable increase in the cost. The counter for this suggestion is that because a majority of
Americans are against abortion, it is morally wrong to use those taxes to fund abortions for those who can't afford them. However, the moral
argument is invalid due to the issue that taxes taken from people aren't distributed on the basis of their beliefs or wants. Taxes are paid to the
government, for the government to use, not the taxpayers. The purpose of taxes is to run the government, and to provide MANY services, including
medical care. Abortion falls under this category that should be covered, in order to help women in need who can't afford to have an abortion that can
save their life. Life saving medical procedures are things that should always be available to any tax–paying american who needs one.
On top of the previous points, the court case Roe v. Wadeseems to peek its head into every talk of abortion, and for greatly understood reasons. Roe v.
Wade was a court case that

Rosann Clarke Write up # 2. Abortion is a very sensitive and controversial topic. There are people who believe that abortion should be a right and a
woman should be able to decide whether to terminate her pregnancy. Persons with this perspective are pro–choice. However, there are others who
believe that abortion is not a right and a woman should not be able to terminate a pregnancy just because she doesn't want to have a baby. People with
that view are pro–life. Because abortion is a debatable issue and has these two perspectives linked to it, we can group arguments used to support
either perspective into categories of pros and cons. Three pros of this topic are; 'A baby should not come into the world unwanted', 'Abortion is a
justified means of population control', and 'The US Supreme Court has declared abortion to be a fundamental right'. Whereas three cons are;
'Abortion promotes a culture in which human life is disposable', 'Abortion eliminates the potential of societal contributions of a future human being',
and 'Abortion is murder, the killing of an innocent human being is wrong even if that human being has yet to be born'. As controversial as the subject
of abortion can be, it is more than just a debatable topic for interesting group conversations or small talk. It is a Health Issue because this procedure,
whether it is done medically or surgically comes with health risks and consequences. I will be discussing some of the different ways in which this

Argumentative Essay On Abortion
Abortion is a very notorious topic of discussion, whether it should or shouldn't be legal. Could reasons be the fear of overpopulation, the fear of
becoming a mother or is the child is not wanted? But why take a child's life for those reasons? The abortion law was passed mid–to–late 1800's by Roe
V. Wade
. It is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. Why I believeabortion
should be viewed as bad is because how could a woman be all right with the fact to basically be considered a "murder" of a child, but not only that,
there are options that they don't even consider. The first reason why I believe abortion is unacceptable is that abortion is permanent. Once the
abortion procedure has started, a woman cannot change her mind. Could someone actually live with themselves after the thought of terminating a
pregnancy? But as philosopher David Boonin, author of A Defense of Abortion, writes: "A human fetus, after all, is simply a human being at a
very early stage in his or her development." I see this as what a woman thinks during the process of consideration towards abortion. Lack of care
within themselves to even have an abortion on their mind. Some women are even forced into an abortion decision before they are truly ready. This
is not ok because we are entitled to choose and make decisions and not be forced into something we may regret in the future. Abortion should not be
a thought of consideration to a women is because there are other options to consider than abortion. One thing is abortion isn't the only choice there are
adoptions, giving it to close family members or friends that are willing to take it under their care. Or plain out straightforward, taking charge of what
you have decided to create. Planned Parenthood's most recent report states that "From Oct. 1, 2011, to Sept. 30, 2012, the organization performed
327,166 abortions and only 2,197 adoption referrals. That equals just 1 adoption for every 149 abortions." Clearly, more women choose abortion over
adoption, but why? "While adoption and abortion are both difficult choices, some women think abortion will be easy and quickest solution to their
unplanned pregnancy. One

Argumentative Essay On Abortion
Abortion has always been an incredibly controversial topic. It has been one of the most widely discussed issues in the American culture for decades.
Abortion is a discussion of human interaction, in which emotions, ethics, and law all come together. In many cases, people on both sides of the
argument have valid points and take moral positions. A pro–choice position would assert that the decision to terminate a pregnancy lies the mother and
that the government has no right to interfere or step in and make that decision. On the other hand, the position of pro–life advocates argue that life
begins at the moment of conception. They believe that because the embryo or fetus is a human life and that one has no moral right to abort it. This
theory argues that this human has no power or say in the matter and is rendered helpless from advocating for itself. Although abortion is a morally and
emotionally charged issues, it is ultimately protected under the 14th amendment. The most common reasons for abortion include but are not limited to,
teen pregnancy, rape, and health issues.
Rape is one of the most prominent possibilities as to why a woman would choose to terminate her pregnancy. Though it is a tough decision to make,
it is possible to be faced with keeping the child or ending the life of the fetus. In some cases, women make the choice to end their pregnancy knowing
how they might treat their child. The women is most likely to hate her rapist and may worry if they move forward with the pregnancy, they would
project this hate onto the child because it reminds them of such a painful memory.According to Rachel Perry, "One percent of women in a
cross–sectional study of women's reasons for choosing abortion reported that their pregnancy had resulted from rape" (67–73). In addition to the
pregnancy, the health consequences of rape can include physical injury, sexually transmitted disease, and mental health problems, including
post–traumatic stress disorder and substance abuse.
There are many ways of coping with the effects of rape, and "with some studies suggesting rape may result in higher rates of pregnancy than consensual
intercourse" (Wikipedia).
Another big issue leading to the decision to terminate a fetus is

Teen Abortions aren't Always a Bad Thing
Imagine it is late at night, and you are walking home from a friend's house. It's very dark and you can't really see what's going on until all of a
sudden, this random man grabs you and throws you into the back of his car. That same night this man rapes and sexually abuses you. Later on, you
find out that you are pregnant by this man and you don't want to keep it, but everyone around you is telling you that you shouldn't get an abortion
because you would then be labeled as killing your child. Now you are stuck debating whether or not you want to give birth to a baby that wouldn't be
here if you weren't raped that night you were walking home from your friend's house. One of the biggest dilemmas in today's time is whether or not
teen abortions should be legal. Every year, more than 50% of babies that are conceived, come into the world unwanted (Guttmacher). Whether it is from
the mother being raped, abused, not wanting their parents to find out, not wanting everyone to know that they had sex, or even just the thought of the
fact that she is a child raising a child. Therefore, all teens should be allowed to have an abortion for many different reasons without being told they are
murdering their child.
Abortions became a political debate after the court case of Roe v Wade legalized abortions in 1973. In the 1973 case ofRoe v. Wade, the U.S Supreme
court ruled that the woman has

Abortion Argumentative Analysis
The concept of abortion holds a very complex and emotional position within the contemporary society due to a number of opposition views being taken
into consideration on the basis of political, cultural and social norms. Based on my current understanding of the subject, my ideologies fall within the
pro–choice spectrum for several reasons such as autonomy on individual rights, reproductive rights, inadequate finances and fertility resources,
pregnancy in association with sexual assault and medical conditions. First, individuals within the society as humans are inclined to practice their
unconventional rights which apply to women in association with pregnancy as they should be given the right to fully exercise self–governance and
control of their own body and what they desire to do with it....show more content...
Furthermore, many families face financial distress limiting women to gain those supportive fertility resources that are available for healthy
pregnancies to be carried out due to these females are at a disadvantage and should be given the opportunity to take into consideration their individual
rights. Further, pregnancies arise as a result of sexual assault in many cases and women should be given all the necessary rights to make a decision
about her reproductive health under circumstances like this as the female's consent was not accounted for. The evolutionary concept of genetics plays a
significant role within the field of medicine and if women diagnosed with medical illnesses that are potentially harmful towards the fetus should be
given the lawful right to make an appropriate choice due to the experienced medical

Argumentative Essay On Abortion
Abortion is a controversial topic discussed all over the world by politicians, doctors, and the community. People often wonder if abortion should be
considered illegal because of their beliefs and morals. The majority of the American public, however, think that abortion should be allowed under
certain circumstances. There should be no doubt that any woman should be able to decide whether or not she wishes to carry a fetus in her womb for
nine months, especially if there are special circumstances or different reasons as to why she might choose to abort. All women should not be denied the
right to terminate their pregnancy. Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy while in the womb. The majority of abortions are performed in the
first trimester, which is one to twelve weeks. It a highly debated subject concerning women's bodies, their rights and personal freedoms. Unwanted
pregnancies and abnormal or deformed fetuses are the main reasons for abortion. Race, social and financial circumstances all play a heavy role in
whether a woman may seek an abortion (Friedman 10). A small percent of abortions occur when a woman finds out if her baby will be born with an
abnormality or a genetic disability because they do not believe they have the care, resources, or be able to handle the emotional strain of caring for
such a child (Friedman 12). The immorality of abortion is often questioned and brought into retrospect again and again. The main argument is at what

What Is Abortion Ethically And Legally Moral?
Abortion
Abortion is one of the most socially, politically, and culturally controversial topics of the 21st century, ultimately affecting women of all ages.
According to Merriam Webster Dictionary, abortion is defined as the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in,
or closely followed by the death of the embryo (Merriam Webster.1). The United States Supreme Court ratified the legalization ofabortion in an effort
to make the procedure safer; this was done through the Roe v Wade decision of 1973. In the United States more than a thousand abortions take place
every day, and although legal, public opinion remains at a standstill as to whether or not abortion is ethical. In the midst of the controversy, two groups
emerged. These two groups are referred to as pro–choice and pro–life. Pro–life supporters claim that the life of a baby begins at conception, therefore
the act of abortion is equivalent to murder. Pro–choice supporters, on the other hand, believe that a woman has the right to choose what she does with
her body. In the end, one must understand the implications of abortion in order to answer the question, is abortion ethically and legally moral?
In the United States, the history of abortion goes back much farther than the 1973 Supreme Court case Roe V. Wade
, which made abortion legal and
marked an important turning point in public health policy. Forty–three years ago, before Roe V. Wade made abortions legal in all 50 states,

Arguments Against Abortion
The issue with laws against abortion is that they are based on the individual's morality and religion, but laws are not meant to appease one's conscious,
they are meant to uphold the rights of man. Every woman and man under the United States Constitution is granted civil liberties and when President
Trump delivered his Executive order, it breached people's civil liberties by denying them access to healthcare. Whether abortion is morally correct, is up
for debate, but a government should not be able to ban or defund such means for a woman to uphold her own civil liberties. When any President
reinstates the "Mexico City Policy," he forces health providers to fire staff, reduce their services, or close their entire clinics. Prohibiting abortion...show

Should women abort their children? It's not a question as to if they should or should not, because it is happening. Despite whether an individual or
the President thinks abortion is not okay, is irrelevant. Abortion is a prevalent issue not because it's legal but because people chose to abort. The
government has no right to tell a woman whether or not to give birth, it abridges her civil liberties as a free American citizen, yet that is exactly what
denying access to abortion amounts to. Sippel describes her opposition to the reinstatement of the "global gag rule" in her article, Silence on Abortion
Equals Death. There she reminds the reader that it is not solely an end of taxpayers money going to abortion but it "pulls all global health assistance,
including for programs that address infectious diseases like malaria, Zika and Ebola"(Sippel). As well as ending international funding, it restricts
funding for clinics that provide contraceptives, pregnancy care, and sexual education. Proven by statistics from various surveys on abortion, although
the intention of this Executive Order is to stop abortion, it does not; and while doing so, results in more casualties and birth defects. Due to lack of
funding for non–profit healthcare organizations, such as Planned Parenthood, there is an increase in the risk of the spread of sexually transmitted
diseases and unsafe abortions. Defunding abortion means "eliminat[ing] the clinics", clinics "which provide a host of other vital services to poor
women around the world"(Kuntzman). It's not the act of abortion that is the issue, it's the lack of prevention to an ongoing problem that is the

Abortion
Abortion had been legal since the time the earliest settlers had arrived. During the time the constitution was made, women had abortions before she
could feel the movement of her fetus which was openly publicized and commonly performed. After the ruling of Roe V. Wade in 1973, women had the
right to legal abortion in all states; however, while supporters of the legal abortion felt that they had won the battle, the level of anti–abortion violence
had escalated. To this day, the morality and ethics of abortion are still questioned. Pro–life believers understand life begins at fertilization and that
abortion is considered murder to innocent life. Pro–choice believers uphold that a woman has the right and control over her own body. Others have
opinions across the spectrum, depending on the scenario that resulted in the fertilization of the child such as sexual assault or when it is a risk to the
mother's life. I believe life begins at conception; therefore, an unborn baby has just as equal rights to life as a born baby that must be protected from
harm.
Nearly 1.3 million abortions occur every year. Women have the right, as an individual, to choose what is best for their body and decide whether or not
they should have children. While a small percentage of women who choose to have abortions do so because of health concerns or fetal abnormalities, a
majority of mothers choose termination in response to an unintended pregnancy. Two most common reasons for abortions, according to a study done in
2004, were dramatic life changes and financial instability of having an offspring (cited by 74% and 73%, respectively). Furthermore, America provides
many opportunities for at–risk families, especially when they are preparing to have a newborn. Programs, such as Medicaid and WIC (the Women,
Infants, and Children program), help to provide education, various forms of healthcare, job assistance, and even childcare that can tremendously help
families. If a woman is pregnant with an unwanted baby, adoption is significantly more humane than abortion. Adoption is an alternative solution to
many individuals and couples who are seeking to be parents. Not only is it beneficial

Argumentative Essay On Abortion
On January 22, 1973, the United States Supreme Court ruled, in a 7–2 decision, on the Roe vs. Wade case legalizing abortion. Since the legalization of
abortion in 1973, there have been approximately 60 million abortions within the United States. The Roe vs. Wade ruling sparked a controversial
debate that has lasted for over 40 years. People that are pro–choice believe that abortion should be legal and that it is ultimately the mother's decision.
The opposite of pro–choice is pro–life. People that associate with this stance believe that abortion is wrong and any life, whether born or unborn,
should be protected. Over the years, there have been several arguments established both for and against abortion. Three strong arguments of pro–life are
that life begins at conception, there are harmful mental effects of abortion, and there are flaws to the Roe vs. Wade final ruling.
The first and most widely spoken argument against abortion is that life begins at conception. At conception, the embryo begins to develop into a human
being and therefore qualifies as a life. In fact, there have been several prominent scientists that have testified in court that life begins at conception.
Dr. Alfred M. Bongioanni, a professor of pediatrics and obstetrics at the University of Pennsylvania stated that, 'I have learned from my earliest medical
education that human life begins at the time of conception... I submit that human life is present throughout this entire sequence from conception to
adulthood and that any interruption at any point throughout this time constitutes a termination of human life.
Also, Professor Hymie Gordon, from the Mayo Clinic stated, "By all the criteria of modern molecular biology, life is present from the moment of
conception." Another prominent professor of Harvard University Medical School, Professor Micheline Matthews–Roth stated, "It is incorrect to say
that biological data cannot be decisive... It is scientifically correct to say that an individual human life begins at conception." Even looking at the
development of an unborn child within the first 12 weeks should be enough to convince a person that the child is a living human. According to the

Abortion Argumentative Analysis

  • 1. Abortion Argumentative Analysis In 1973, Roe vs. Wade was adopted legalizing abortion in all 50 states and since then there have been more than 50 million abortions in the United States (Ertelt, S., 2013). The Supreme Court decided that women have the right to have an abortion. The Guttmacher Institue (AGI) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) provide statistical data relative to abortions (Abort73.com, 2009). Reporting abortion is not mandatory but the CDC said there was approximately 1.06 million performed in 2011 with 34% being teenagers between 15–19 years of age. The CDC also reports over 31.3% of teenagers between the ages of 15–19 gave birth in 2011 (Martin, Joyce et al, 2013). Against Some of the views that anti–abortionist argue that life begins at conception, it is illegal to intentionally kill another human, pregnancy is 100% preventable and minors are not being properly educated on the effects and alternatives to abortion. Life comes from procreation between two humans. There is no other way to create life. When human beings mate and...show more content... Teenagers are not taught about abortion in schools, so most of what is learned is from friends, biased experiences of activist groups or family. The depth of these shared experiences can vary from individual to individual. Most teenagers don't think they will get pregnant, until it happens. After an abortion, the experience does not end there. They may have psychological issues regarding morality and if they made the right decision, and a lot of "what if" questions when exploring the unknown when they become older. This also has a tendency to lead to substance abuse and sexual promiscuity due to ineffective coping skills. Some of the medical risks of abortions may not be apparent immediately afterwards. Some of those risks include infection, uterine damage, future conception difficulties, certain cancers and even Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. An Argument Against Abortion "Baby" means "a very young child, especially one newly or recently born." (Google) So when people say abortion is wrong because you're killing a baby, it would be incorrect. What you would be killing is called a fetus. The thing you would be killing wouldn't have a recollection (memories) of life, let alone miss it. Abortion is performed in the first 24 weeks of life, out of 40 weeks. I'm not saying abortion is right in every case, but what if you were pregnant with a baby of your rapist. You wouldn't want to have the baby. You could be 13 years old and pregnant. So many things could go wrong, maybe the baby would have a deformed face, an extra limb, or it has a deadly disease. That's why I'm pro–choice, meaning I think that it depends...show more content... Some people may say that sounds harsh, to be honest it is. But it's true. There are some true points that people make that oppose abortion, but there are more reasons that support it. Individual rights are the right to pursue life and goals without interference from other individuals or the government life. So an example of the common good is the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The constitution and the bill of rights don't apply to non–citizens. The individual rights are about the mother being able to have an abortion if she has a good Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. The Argument Against Abortion In our society, everyone has their own opinion about everything. This topic just so happens to be one of those. Abortion is a very touchy subject to some people. Some people are pro–choice, others are pro–life. Some are caught in the middle. Some people think depending on the situation, it should be okay. People base their opinions on their religion, race, culture, political views, and how they were raised. I was raised pro–life depending on the situation. Pro–choice means it is the mother's choice to get an abortion. Pro–life means they are completely against abortion. Is it a living person? Should it be illegal? Is it okay depending on the situation? Everyone has a different opinion. Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy. Abortions Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Argumentative Essay On Anti Abortion Currently there are many controversial issues in the world, but one of the most famous talked about issues is abortion. There are always two sides to every argument and in this issue both sides have very compelling points to their arguments. On the one hand, there is the prochoice movement in which people believe women have the right to choose if they keep their fetus or not. Anti–abortion is the other movement in which people believe the fetus has a right to live. Like many controversial issues no one can say for sure that their argument is right and the other is wrong. Anti–Abortion A mother wakes in a hospital room only hours after giving birth to her newborn infant. She turns over in her bed slowly because the pain from her Cesarean is unbearable. She reaches over and grabs her newly born infant and starts ripping its limbs off. Although that might seem graphic, the question is, is she committing murder or is it her choice. The obvious answer would be murder, but why would you believe it is murder and not her right to terminate the infant's life. According to Webster's Dictionary life is defined as the quality that distinguishes a vital and functional being from a dead body, and those qualities can be simple things like a heartbeat or brain function. Anti–abortion believers feel that a fetus should be considered a life or human being which would...show more content... In all truthfulness if you look at the facts abortion should be considered murder. Just because the fetuses are in a woman's body does not mean those fetuses should have less rights then a one day old infant. Yes, the uterus is part of a woman's body, but the fetus itself is a body which means it should have the right to live. There is already so much death in the world, we as human beings should not be killing innocent fetuses that probably could be the very lives who help save this Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Argumentative Essay Abortion Have you ever considered legalizing abortion in the country? Do you think it's a good idea to take an innocent life? Do you think it's right to take away privileges from an innocent child? Absolutely not! I strongly believe that legalizing abortion will allow individuals to avoid handling responsibilities, and take away innocent lives for no apparent reason. In this argumentative essay, I would be arguing against legalizing abortion in the country. The negative consequences and impacts from abortion is so enormous that it can't be overemphasized. One of the greatest problem of legal abortion is the horrifying inhumane prospect of 'abortions on demand' at any point in pregnancy. I strongly believe every unborn child have a right to live. And the termination of this unborn child willingly for whatever reason can only be murder. The rate of abortion in the united states per live birth as of 2015 is 12.1 abortions per 1,000 live births of women between the ages of 15 and 44. According to statistical medical records, the high abortion rate was mostly recorded among women in their 40's. In the legal aspect "unlawful killing of a human being" with some level of intent. California law includes "a deliberate intention unlawfully to take away the life of a fellow creature." The only thing preventing abortion from being included in the definition of murder is that it's currently not "unlawful." But basic science proves that an unborn child is a "human being." No mention of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Argumentative Speech On Abortion How many of you would like to be forced into doing something against your will, only because of the fear that society will judge you? How many of you, have heard a woman talk about her abortion experience? My guess, is nobody. Today, I'm here to talk about abortions and how political and societal barriers affect every woman's choice at some point. When it comes to abortion, people have a difference of opinion. There are pro–life supporters and pro–choice supporters. People that are pro–choice, believe that women have the right to choose. Abortion is legal in Canada, yet no woman will openly talk about it, as society has labeled abortion as a subject everyone should stay silent about. This all comes down to one problem; societal and political barriers that still exist within our country. There are many issues that surround the idea of abortion, such as, young girls and women being degraded for getting pregnant and choosing abortion, students being taught that abortion is a sin, Canada lacking in the number of doctors that can provide the abortion pills to patients, and denied abortions being directly linked to suicide. Firstly, I'd like to start off by talking about how big of a threat society can be to us. But today, I'm focusing specifically on how it affects women and how it will affect everyone sitting in this room. A woman can have multiple reasons for wanting an abortion. She may not be able to survive the pregnancy, she may have been raped, there may be family pressure to get an abortion, the child may be born with a birth defect, the mother may not be able to support the child, or she may want to focus on her career. ("Abortion"). Society will overlook those reasons and judge her nevertheless. People will say things like "She should keep the baby." or "She shouldn't get an abortion because it's selfish." Why can't a woman choose what she does with her body without being judged or pressurized? It's her body. Her mind. Her life. And ultimately it is her choice. So why should we judge her at all? Getting an abortion isn't an easy decision to make, so why make someone's life harder if we can't make it any easier or any better? Not only that but a couple years ago, I watched a speech about why it's better Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Argumentative Essay On Abortion Abortion Abortion is a highly debated topic that has been highly controversial, especially in recent times. Pro–life, Right To Life, and other anti–abortion groups are fighting to deprive women of a basic medical procedure that should be available to all women. Abortions should be provided and available to all women who wish to get them, and even to those who don't. Peter Singer said it best: "We have no obligation to allow every being with the potential to become a rational being to realize that potential." What Peter means is that women do not have to carry a pregnancy to term. At any point, if there are complications, any danger, or threat to the mother, they should be able to stop it. The fallacy of many arguments is equating the rights of a fetus to those of a grown woman, whom is obviously more valuable and useful. The retort to that is why should the fetus' ability to become self–aware and aborting it before it is self–aware make it wrong? Any rational woman has domain over any being who isn't yet aware of its existence, it is a simple fact. Although abortion should be a right, the issue is also taxes and how they could help. Over 22 percent of America's taxes goes to cover healthcare. Adding funding for abortion wouldn't cause a noticeable increase in the cost. The counter for this suggestion is that because a majority of Americans are against abortion, it is morally wrong to use those taxes to fund abortions for those who can't afford them. However, the moral argument is invalid due to the issue that taxes taken from people aren't distributed on the basis of their beliefs or wants. Taxes are paid to the government, for the government to use, not the taxpayers. The purpose of taxes is to run the government, and to provide MANY services, including medical care. Abortion falls under this category that should be covered, in order to help women in need who can't afford to have an abortion that can save their life. Life saving medical procedures are things that should always be available to any tax–paying american who needs one. On top of the previous points, the court case Roe v. Wadeseems to peek its head into every talk of abortion, and for greatly understood reasons. Roe v. Wade was a court case that Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Argumentative Essay On Abortion Rosann Clarke Write up # 2. Abortion is a very sensitive and controversial topic. There are people who believe that abortion should be a right and a woman should be able to decide whether to terminate her pregnancy. Persons with this perspective are pro–choice. However, there are others who believe that abortion is not a right and a woman should not be able to terminate a pregnancy just because she doesn't want to have a baby. People with that view are pro–life. Because abortion is a debatable issue and has these two perspectives linked to it, we can group arguments used to support either perspective into categories of pros and cons. Three pros of this topic are; 'A baby should not come into the world unwanted', 'Abortion is a justified means of population control', and 'The US Supreme Court has declared abortion to be a fundamental right'. Whereas three cons are; 'Abortion promotes a culture in which human life is disposable', 'Abortion eliminates the potential of societal contributions of a future human being', and 'Abortion is murder, the killing of an innocent human being is wrong even if that human being has yet to be born'. As controversial as the subject of abortion can be, it is more than just a debatable topic for interesting group conversations or small talk. It is a Health Issue because this procedure, whether it is done medically or surgically comes with health risks and consequences. I will be discussing some of the different ways in which this health issue Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Argumentative Essay On Abortion Abortion is a very notorious topic of discussion, whether it should or shouldn't be legal. Could reasons be the fear of overpopulation, the fear of becoming a mother or is the child is not wanted? But why take a child's life for those reasons? The abortion law was passed mid–to–late 1800's by Roe V. Wade . It is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. Why I believeabortion should be viewed as bad is because how could a woman be all right with the fact to basically be considered a "murder" of a child, but not only that, there are options that they don't even consider. The first reason why I believe abortion is unacceptable is that abortion is permanent. Once the abortion procedure has started, a woman cannot change her mind. Could someone actually live with themselves after the thought of terminating a pregnancy? But as philosopher David Boonin, author of A Defense of Abortion, writes: "A human fetus, after all, is simply a human being at a very early stage in his or her development." I see this as what a woman thinks during the process of consideration towards abortion. Lack of care within themselves to even have an abortion on their mind. Some women are even forced into an abortion decision before they are truly ready. This is not ok because we are entitled to choose and make decisions and not be forced into something we may regret in the future. Abortion should not be a thought of consideration to a women is because there are other options to consider than abortion. One thing is abortion isn't the only choice there are adoptions, giving it to close family members or friends that are willing to take it under their care. Or plain out straightforward, taking charge of what you have decided to create. Planned Parenthood's most recent report states that "From Oct. 1, 2011, to Sept. 30, 2012, the organization performed 327,166 abortions and only 2,197 adoption referrals. That equals just 1 adoption for every 149 abortions." Clearly, more women choose abortion over adoption, but why? "While adoption and abortion are both difficult choices, some women think abortion will be easy and quickest solution to their unplanned pregnancy. One Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Argumentative Essay On Abortion Abortion has always been an incredibly controversial topic. It has been one of the most widely discussed issues in the American culture for decades. Abortion is a discussion of human interaction, in which emotions, ethics, and law all come together. In many cases, people on both sides of the argument have valid points and take moral positions. A pro–choice position would assert that the decision to terminate a pregnancy lies the mother and that the government has no right to interfere or step in and make that decision. On the other hand, the position of pro–life advocates argue that life begins at the moment of conception. They believe that because the embryo or fetus is a human life and that one has no moral right to abort it. This theory argues that this human has no power or say in the matter and is rendered helpless from advocating for itself. Although abortion is a morally and emotionally charged issues, it is ultimately protected under the 14th amendment. The most common reasons for abortion include but are not limited to, teen pregnancy, rape, and health issues. Rape is one of the most prominent possibilities as to why a woman would choose to terminate her pregnancy. Though it is a tough decision to make, it is possible to be faced with keeping the child or ending the life of the fetus. In some cases, women make the choice to end their pregnancy knowing how they might treat their child. The women is most likely to hate her rapist and may worry if they move forward with the pregnancy, they would project this hate onto the child because it reminds them of such a painful memory.According to Rachel Perry, "One percent of women in a cross–sectional study of women's reasons for choosing abortion reported that their pregnancy had resulted from rape" (67–73). In addition to the pregnancy, the health consequences of rape can include physical injury, sexually transmitted disease, and mental health problems, including post–traumatic stress disorder and substance abuse. There are many ways of coping with the effects of rape, and "with some studies suggesting rape may result in higher rates of pregnancy than consensual intercourse" (Wikipedia). • 11. Argumentative Essay On Teen Abortion Briana Nelson Hannah Homes Eng.1101 10 December 2017 Teen Abortions aren't Always a Bad Thing Imagine it is late at night, and you are walking home from a friend's house. It's very dark and you can't really see what's going on until all of a sudden, this random man grabs you and throws you into the back of his car. That same night this man rapes and sexually abuses you. Later on, you find out that you are pregnant by this man and you don't want to keep it, but everyone around you is telling you that you shouldn't get an abortion because you would then be labeled as killing your child. Now you are stuck debating whether or not you want to give birth to a baby that wouldn't be here if you weren't raped that night you were walking home from your friend's house. One of the biggest dilemmas in today's time is whether or not teen abortions should be legal. Every year, more than 50% of babies that are conceived, come into the world unwanted (Guttmacher). Whether it is from the mother being raped, abused, not wanting their parents to find out, not wanting everyone to know that they had sex, or even just the thought of the fact that she is a child raising a child. Therefore, all teens should be allowed to have an abortion for many different reasons without being told they are murdering their child. Abortions became a political debate after the court case of Roe v Wade legalized abortions in 1973. In the 1973 case ofRoe v. Wade, the U.S Supreme court ruled that the woman has Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Abortion Argumentative Analysis The concept of abortion holds a very complex and emotional position within the contemporary society due to a number of opposition views being taken into consideration on the basis of political, cultural and social norms. Based on my current understanding of the subject, my ideologies fall within the pro–choice spectrum for several reasons such as autonomy on individual rights, reproductive rights, inadequate finances and fertility resources, pregnancy in association with sexual assault and medical conditions. First, individuals within the society as humans are inclined to practice their unconventional rights which apply to women in association with pregnancy as they should be given the right to fully exercise self–governance and control of their own body and what they desire to do with it....show more content... Furthermore, many families face financial distress limiting women to gain those supportive fertility resources that are available for healthy pregnancies to be carried out due to these females are at a disadvantage and should be given the opportunity to take into consideration their individual rights. Further, pregnancies arise as a result of sexual assault in many cases and women should be given all the necessary rights to make a decision about her reproductive health under circumstances like this as the female's consent was not accounted for. The evolutionary concept of genetics plays a significant role within the field of medicine and if women diagnosed with medical illnesses that are potentially harmful towards the fetus should be given the lawful right to make an appropriate choice due to the experienced medical Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Abortion is a concept that has been widely debated for years according to "Roe V. Wade' Turns 40, But Abortion Debate Is Even Older'', it is a argument that has been going on since the 1950's , but the big question is will the debate of whether abortion is pro choice or murder ever truly be over ? Using the articles "20 Key Arguments For and AgainstAbortion" and "Should Abortion Be Legal" I'll be analyzing the opinions of pro life and pro choice views of abortion written by different authors that share some different views of why they believe it is wrong or right. Linda Lowen the arthur of "20 Key Arguments For and Against Abortion" , used more opinion based facts in contrast to "Should Abortion Be Legal" but neither of the authors are prejudice to either side of the argument. The article ВЁShould Abortion Be Legal" uses a lot of surveys from universities and medical centers to back up there point of view on why abortion is pro choice. The pro life argument uses surveys from the same sources but they also use scriptures from the old testament and a statement in the hippocratic oath that doctors take forbidding abortion. Other than that one argument this article resembles "Should Abortion Be Legal" uses majority of the same facts to argue this issue. • 14. Argumentative Essay On Abortion Abortion is a controversial topic discussed all over the world by politicians, doctors, and the community. People often wonder if abortion should be considered illegal because of their beliefs and morals. The majority of the American public, however, think that abortion should be allowed under certain circumstances. There should be no doubt that any woman should be able to decide whether or not she wishes to carry a fetus in her womb for nine months, especially if there are special circumstances or different reasons as to why she might choose to abort. All women should not be denied the right to terminate their pregnancy. Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy while in the womb. The majority of abortions are performed in the first trimester, which is one to twelve weeks. It a highly debated subject concerning women's bodies, their rights and personal freedoms. Unwanted pregnancies and abnormal or deformed fetuses are the main reasons for abortion. Race, social and financial circumstances all play a heavy role in whether a woman may seek an abortion (Friedman 10). A small percent of abortions occur when a woman finds out if her baby will be born with an abnormality or a genetic disability because they do not believe they have the care, resources, or be able to handle the emotional strain of caring for such a child (Friedman 12). The immorality of abortion is often questioned and brought into retrospect again and again. The main argument is at what time in the womb Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. What Is Abortion Ethically And Legally Moral? Abortion Abortion is one of the most socially, politically, and culturally controversial topics of the 21st century, ultimately affecting women of all ages. According to Merriam Webster Dictionary, abortion is defined as the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo (Merriam Webster.1). The United States Supreme Court ratified the legalization ofabortion in an effort to make the procedure safer; this was done through the Roe v Wade decision of 1973. In the United States more than a thousand abortions take place every day, and although legal, public opinion remains at a standstill as to whether or not abortion is ethical. In the midst of the controversy, two groups emerged. These two groups are referred to as pro–choice and pro–life. Pro–life supporters claim that the life of a baby begins at conception, therefore the act of abortion is equivalent to murder. Pro–choice supporters, on the other hand, believe that a woman has the right to choose what she does with her body. In the end, one must understand the implications of abortion in order to answer the question, is abortion ethically and legally moral? In the United States, the history of abortion goes back much farther than the 1973 Supreme Court case Roe V. Wade , which made abortion legal and marked an important turning point in public health policy. Forty–three years ago, before Roe V. Wade made abortions legal in all 50 states, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Arguments Against Abortion The issue with laws against abortion is that they are based on the individual's morality and religion, but laws are not meant to appease one's conscious, they are meant to uphold the rights of man. Every woman and man under the United States Constitution is granted civil liberties and when President Trump delivered his Executive order, it breached people's civil liberties by denying them access to healthcare. Whether abortion is morally correct, is up for debate, but a government should not be able to ban or defund such means for a woman to uphold her own civil liberties. When any President reinstates the "Mexico City Policy," he forces health providers to fire staff, reduce their services, or close their entire clinics. Prohibiting abortion...show more content... Should women abort their children? It's not a question as to if they should or should not, because it is happening. Despite whether an individual or the President thinks abortion is not okay, is irrelevant. Abortion is a prevalent issue not because it's legal but because people chose to abort. The government has no right to tell a woman whether or not to give birth, it abridges her civil liberties as a free American citizen, yet that is exactly what denying access to abortion amounts to. Sippel describes her opposition to the reinstatement of the "global gag rule" in her article, Silence on Abortion Equals Death. There she reminds the reader that it is not solely an end of taxpayers money going to abortion but it "pulls all global health assistance, including for programs that address infectious diseases like malaria, Zika and Ebola"(Sippel). As well as ending international funding, it restricts funding for clinics that provide contraceptives, pregnancy care, and sexual education. Proven by statistics from various surveys on abortion, although the intention of this Executive Order is to stop abortion, it does not; and while doing so, results in more casualties and birth defects. Due to lack of funding for non–profit healthcare organizations, such as Planned Parenthood, there is an increase in the risk of the spread of sexually transmitted diseases and unsafe abortions. Defunding abortion means "eliminat[ing] the clinics", clinics "which provide a host of other vital services to poor women around the world"(Kuntzman). It's not the act of abortion that is the issue, it's the lack of prevention to an ongoing problem that is the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

It is important to note that an individual or a strong supporter could be or against the law since any compromise means a choice of life over death , and vice versa . This strange facet of abortion makes it a very controversial Act and subject because both supporters and opponents meet nowhere and have a very partisan mindset . Personal faiths through religion make them view the subject differently. • 18. Argumentative Essay On Abortion Abortion Abortion had been legal since the time the earliest settlers had arrived. During the time the constitution was made, women had abortions before she could feel the movement of her fetus which was openly publicized and commonly performed. After the ruling of Roe V. Wade in 1973, women had the right to legal abortion in all states; however, while supporters of the legal abortion felt that they had won the battle, the level of anti–abortion violence had escalated. To this day, the morality and ethics of abortion are still questioned. Pro–life believers understand life begins at fertilization and that abortion is considered murder to innocent life. Pro–choice believers uphold that a woman has the right and control over her own body. Others have opinions across the spectrum, depending on the scenario that resulted in the fertilization of the child such as sexual assault or when it is a risk to the mother's life. I believe life begins at conception; therefore, an unborn baby has just as equal rights to life as a born baby that must be protected from harm. Nearly 1.3 million abortions occur every year. Women have the right, as an individual, to choose what is best for their body and decide whether or not they should have children. While a small percentage of women who choose to have abortions do so because of health concerns or fetal abnormalities, a majority of mothers choose termination in response to an unintended pregnancy. Two most common reasons for abortions, according to a study done in 2004, were dramatic life changes and financial instability of having an offspring (cited by 74% and 73%, respectively). Furthermore, America provides many opportunities for at–risk families, especially when they are preparing to have a newborn. Programs, such as Medicaid and WIC (the Women, Infants, and Children program), help to provide education, various forms of healthcare, job assistance, and even childcare that can tremendously help families. If a woman is pregnant with an unwanted baby, adoption is significantly more humane than abortion. Adoption is an alternative solution to many individuals and couples who are seeking to be parents. • 19. Argumentative Essay On Abortion On January 22, 1973, the United States Supreme Court ruled, in a 7–2 decision, on the Roe vs. Wade case legalizing abortion. Since the legalization of abortion in 1973, there have been approximately 60 million abortions within the United States. The Roe vs. Wade ruling sparked a controversial debate that has lasted for over 40 years. People that are pro–choice believe that abortion should be legal and that it is ultimately the mother's decision. The opposite of pro–choice is pro–life. People that associate with this stance believe that abortion is wrong and any life, whether born or unborn, should be protected. Over the years, there have been several arguments established both for and against abortion. Three strong arguments of pro–life are that life begins at conception, there are harmful mental effects of abortion, and there are flaws to the Roe vs. Wade final ruling. The first and most widely spoken argument against abortion is that life begins at conception. At conception, the embryo begins to develop into a human being and therefore qualifies as a life. In fact, there have been several prominent scientists that have testified in court that life begins at conception. Dr. Alfred M. Bongioanni, a professor of pediatrics and obstetrics at the University of Pennsylvania stated that, 'I have learned from my earliest medical education that human life begins at the time of conception... I submit that human life is present throughout this entire sequence from conception to adulthood and that any interruption at any point throughout this time constitutes a termination of human life. Also, Professor Hymie Gordon, from the Mayo Clinic stated, "By all the criteria of modern molecular biology, life is present from the moment of conception." Another prominent professor of Harvard University Medical School, Professor Micheline Matthews–Roth stated, "It is incorrect to say that biological data cannot be decisive... It is scientifically correct to say that an individual human life begins at conception." Even looking at the development of an unborn child within the first 12 weeks should be enough to convince a person that the child is a living human.
