Six years after taking office, President Obama finally joined Twitter on Monday – and he's already got jokes. The president – who has had his own personal Twitter account, @BarackObama, since 2007 – now has an official handle dedicated to his work in the White House. But it looks like former President Bill Clinton has other plans for the new @POTUS account. An official White House blog post explains the purpose of the account: "The @POTUS Twitter account will serve as a new way for President Obama to engage directly with the American people, with tweets coming exclusively from him. President Obama is committed to making his Administration the most open and participatory in history, and @POTUS will give Americans a new venue to engage on the issues that matter most to them."
