I have a great love of the outdoors and adventurous nature, I spent many years in the scouting movement in
Australia with an interest in the mountains, hiking and cross country skiing, but also including the performing
arts as a lad in Showtime, a regional production and later on, due to a broken leg at 14, in the orchestra as a
guitarist. I have been a keen surfer, spear fisherman, and spent some time operating a fishing charter
business. I played team football, cricket and tennis in local competitions outside of school and became a
sought after baseball player in my late teens playing in state competitions for my district. I studied guitar and
played in a profitable band for several years. For the last 25 years I have been a keen racing sailor and
particularly enjoy being part of a well-functioning crew.
