• For my article series, I want to follow the format of
Wikihow. The series of steps I want to teach are the
different roles in making a movie
• Most of the filmmaking sites tend to generalize the
process by listing the steps as finding people to perform
the different roles of making a movie
• Very few sites offer specialized lists that explain the role
in detail and tend to just define them.
3. TITLE AND LOGLINE
• Title: And…Action!
• Logline: The Who, What and Hows of Making a Movie

• Director
• It’s not simply picking up a camera and yelling action. Learn the
art of planning each scene and the basic techniques of shots,
angles and movements
• Writer
• You can’t have a movie without a script (depending on what kind
of movie you’re going for). An explanation of building the
structure of a script and learning the different texts involved
• Producer
• The director’s best friend or worst enemy. An in depth look on the
producer’s role on getting the movie going

• Like a producer, but scarier. A discussion on how the executive
producer is a prominent force in the movie making process

• It’s more than just pressing record. Learn how the
cinematographer creates the “look and feel” of the movies
aesthetic

• Acting is more than just speaking lines. Explore the craft of acting
and the different methods that can help you emote

• Because “Camera, Action!” doesn’t roll off the tongue. The
technical side of filmmaking is described

• Silent films are cool, but…A lesson on capturing and refining the
