3. BRIEF HISTORY OF PWB
 PWB WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1851.
 IN 1895, BULL RUN COMPLETED CONSTRUCTION OF CONDUIT
1 WHICH ALLOWED FLOW TO MT. TABOR.
 CREDIT WAS DUE IN 1905 TO PWB FOR THE DECREASE IN
DEATHS SINCE BULL RUN BECAME OPERATIONAL.
 1927 WATER METERS WERE INSTALLED IN THE PORTLAND
AREA TO ALL WATER SERVICES.
 1930-1940 CHLORINE WAS FIRST INTRODUCE TO PREP WATER
FOR TREATMENT AND ALLOWED FOR CLEANER WATER FOR
PUBLIC USE.
 BY 1962 BOTH DAM 1 AND 2 WERE CONSTRUCTED AT BULL
RUN.
 DURING THE 2000’S, TECHNOLOGY INCREASED ALLOWING
FOR EFFICIENCY AND REUSABLE UTILITIES WHICH
DECREASED WATER USAGE BY 80%.
 IN 1995, PWB INSTALLED A 50 MILLION GALLON TANK AT
POWELL BUTTE TO HELP DISTRIBUTE WATER TO CONSUMERS.
