2. How Nuclear Power Plants Work
In most energy plants there's water being heated and
then turned into steam which turns turbines, which is
attached to a generator which creates energy... Its the
same for a nuclear power plant but to heat the water they
use uranium cylinders. In the reactor core there are lots of
uranium cylinders. When a reactor is turned on the
uranium Adams are very unstable, but when there
huddled together and surrounded with heavy water the
neutrons start to speed up. These tiny uranium neutrons
are able to pass threw the walls of the cylinder. When
passed threw all the cylinders fast they start to hit
Adams, when this happens the Adams split wich. Makes
intense heat. This heat is then used to heat water to make
the steam.
3. Negatives on Nuclear Power
Nuclear energy may be amazing and a excellent way to
get energy with no global warming problems but... There
have been over 30 accidents with Nuclear energy, which
makes me think if its actually worth it. Many people have
died and maybe there's some other ways that would be
much better for us.
4. Positive Affects of
Nuclear Power
Nuclear power has benefits not only negatives. Did you
know nuclear power plants prevent 5.1 million tons of
sulfur dioxide from entering the earth's atmosphere.
They don't make any harmful. In my opinion nuclear
power is the way to go. Of all energy sources, nuclear
energy has perhaps the lowest impact on the
environment.
5. My Opinion
In my opinion nuclear energy would be the best. There's
an extremely low chance that its going to blow. But if it
does I have an idea that would fix this problem, you
could simply just put a nuclear power plant on a far away
island, but that's just my idea. But to sum this week up I
learned about many things on nuclear power and how it
works. I also learned how most energy plants work. This
has been very fun to do. Hope to do more in the future.
