Planning to end of year
Bv5b
Important notice
 This is the PLAN for Bv5b. Bv5a will be following a different process and
therefore will have a different schedule. We are coordinating so that we both
get to the same end at the same time, with the same assessments, but will be
following a different route. Therefore, some aspects of how the course is
conducted may differ significantly.
 This is a PLAN. The PLAN reflects my intentions on how to achieve the goals
for all students, but is not set in stone. Some of the ideas stated here are still
pending approval, and other steps in the plan may need to be adjusted as
circumstances dictate. Flexibility may be required, however, note that
flexibility is limited by the calendar.

Notes
 Shakespeare’s language is difficult: we will be reviewing it in great detail, but
it is essential that you have read the text (i.e., that you have gone over the
words), even when you don’t understand it: it is easier to teach what has
been said if you have already read it. Therefore, it is essential that you have
read the texts before we start teaching them. The other way round, and you
won’t understand it or retain it as well for your IOC.
 SL students: if you want to do a WT on Part 2, or Part 1 Gender, then it is silly
to wait until the end, because you will forget some things. You can submit
your proposal and your task any time in advance of the deadlines.
 Summer reading: If you are clever you will read all books for year 6 during the
summer. If you want to make your life easier, you will read at least one of
the books. If you want the same problems you’ve had this year, you won’t
bother.
