Toipc-1 Alternator
Learning Outcomes: -
Students will be able to:
Classify different types of alternators from application and construction point of
view.
Know various terms related to three-phase AC winding.
Analyse the effect of short-pitched and distributed winding.
Analyse the effect of armature reaction.
Determine voltage regulation of cylindrical pole type alternator using EMF, MMF
and ZPF method.
Analyse the effect of saliency in salient pole alternator.
Determine the voltage regulation in salient pole alternator.
Know the process of synchronizing two alternators and one alternator with
infinite bus.
Analyse the effect of varying excitation and mechanical power input on an
alternator operating in synchronism with another alternator or an infinite bus.
