The costume is bright and colourful – The multicolours suggesting that Rihanna has many colours in her personality – a bright and bubbly person. She has a high fashion sense and a very classy style. There is a slightly low angled shot used to take this photograph which could suggest that people look up to Rihanna – aspiring to be her. However – to take away any potential threats from the low angled shot. The black of the room and white around her contrast, and create a “naughty but nice” connotation of Rihanna, like the devil and the angel. As always, there is a slightly low angled shot used to take this photograph which could suggest that people look up to Rihanna – aspiring to be her. Again, as always in magazines – to take away any potential threats from the low angled shot. Rihanna’s eye line is exactly on level with the readers – suggesting we are on the same level as her and she doesn’t see herself as ‘better’. Rihanna is framed to the right of the photo – taking a less dominant role on the page, this leaves room for the table of contents to be added and suggests that the contents table is more important. Again, no props are used, but the classy jewelry and dimmed lighting helps to still create a fashionable, and inspirable image of Rihanna and her personality!

Because her personality is big enough. The red hair colour had a lot of connotations, that she is rebellious, daring and dangerous. Her body language makes her look quite upset, self contained and content. A bit defensive and as though she doesn’t really want to let any body else in. Her facial expressions support this with her puppy – dog eyes. Overall, this image keeps the classy, fashionable view of Rihanna up, and is excellent for a double page spread: Again there is a slightly low angle to the shot, suggesting that women may look up to Rihanna. – However, as always, her eye line is in the top third of the page, which connoted that the reader is on the same level as Rihanna, taking away any threats. This photo is a long shot of Rihanna, often found on double page spreads, she is framed to the left, suggesting that the story or article is going to be all about her, and she is the most dominant part of it. There is blank space in the top right corner to leave room for writing. She is dressed all in white suggesting that she is clean, pure and innocent, however the major high stilettos bring out the rebel in her personality.
