Persuasive Essay On My Grade
Dr. Corbin,
I do apologize for any inconvenience I may be causing you, but I have questions about my grade in swrk 630 as well as the finish. I would like to
know where I said as far as my grade in the course. I also have questions about the final. Are we using the case study presented by another group to
complete this paper? Could you please give me a little more detail?
Thank You

Middle School Persuasive Essay
The fear of finals, the stress of studying, the frenzy to fit in. All of these feelings boil up to one thing: Middle School. Although at times it may seem
that one small incident might be the end of the world, by taking certain precautions and following basic social rules, it will seem as though you danced
through your middle school years. In the midst of the rigorous academics of St. Michael's, the perplexity of social events, and the excitement of
entering the hallowed halls of high school, you can easily navigate your eighth grade journey by listening to the advice of an eighth grader who has
been through it all. Homework, tests, quizzes, oh my! Thinking about the pile of assignments that are going to be laid at your feet might cause anxiety,

From that point of view, I cannot put in my two cents yet, but I can say that a lot more goes into the preparation part of high school than is
portrayed in the cinematic world. First and foremost, the most important step in preparing for high school is choosing where you will be spending
your next four years. When doing this, look at what the school offers. If you are interested in a sport, such as basketball or volleyball, does the
school have a strong team in that sport? If you are looking for a rigorous academic program, will that school offer you a challenge? One of the most
difficult parts about picking the best school for you is having the input of others. Where your friends are attending school the next year is a big
wavering factor on your decision. Keep in mind that there will be over a thousand students at your new school, with plenty of friends to choose from.
I can speak from personal experience when I say that it is nerve–racking to think of having a completely fresh start, but at the same time, it allows for a
sigh of relief. Accelerated biology, honors geometry, theatre, engineering, and the list goes on and on. With a list of choices that could stretch across
the ocean, how is one supposed to be limited to seven classes a day? The next most crucial thing in the mapping out of your high school expedition is
picking your classes, and if you

Persuasive Essay About High School
Starting school when you're four years old changes tremendously to when you're seventeen or eighteen. There are a few things about school that remain
the same, but many more changes are made throughout the years. Gradually homework gets harder and more complex, teachers change, different
activities are added, and much more. Elementary is just the base of what your life will be like in the future. High School prepares you more for the rest
of your life and is when you individually get to have options and decisions to make. Elementary school consists of learning vocabulary (words),
making friends, basic math, and playing outside for recess. The classes you take in Elementary are mandatory. You have to take Math, Science,
Language Arts, P.E., Music, Social Studies, Art, and Reading without have a choice on which class to take. There are no complex levels of
classes that you can take. Everyone is in the same class and it's usually with the same teacher. For example, your third grade teacher would teach
all your classes to you and you would stay in the same room for almost the whole day besides for Art, Music, and P.E. There are normally three
teachers for each grade which means your entire grade would be split up into three groups and those are the groups you'll be with the whole year.
Recess and lunch was the only times you could see your other friends that are in your grade. Everyone in first through sixth grade do not have any
classes together, it is strictly grade by

Why Grades Are Important Essay
Yes, grades are an effective means of motivating students to do their best work. If there were no grades why the students would like to work hard? Do
not they want to enjoy luxury and comforts in their youth? Surely, students want to enjoy their youth with luxury and comforts. They can not judge
themselves because they have no scale of judgment. It is the instructor only who judges the students comparatively and gives grades to them
accordingly. In this way, by receiving their grades students recognize their positions in the class. If their positions came to be low, they then try to
achieve higher positions by working hard because they want to achieve their goal of becoming great persons. As it is the nature of all the human beings

The farmer does his best to make his fields fit for better growth of the crops only in the hope of getting a good variety of crops so that they may
help him in earning high money. If he will not be able to get high money by producing a good variety of crops he will probably increase his
working hours to achieve his purpose because he does his work only for earning money to live in. Similar is the case with the students. Students
work because they want their instructor to give them high grades. Their future career depends on their grades they have made at this level. If they
got high grade their future will be bright because everyone gives credit to grades. Therefore, if students will get credit for their work they will
work even better for getting more and more credit. Otherwise, they will shirk work hard. Furthermore, God will also give rewards to those people
who have done good deeds in this world. That is why; all people do their best of doing good deeds so that they may be able to get reward from God
on their sacrifices and hardships. If there would be no reward from God, no one would want to do good deeds by facing hardships. Every one would
be free to committing sins or other bad deeds which will results in turmoil of the world. Same is the case with the students. If the instructor gives them
grades for their individual work they will

Persuasive Speech About Bullying
Today I am going to be verbalizing about a vigorous of how I preserved my friends life, to this day he is still alive because of me. This was not your
average case of just a simple kid getting bullied, after aurally perceiving this it will definitely change how you handle and visually perceive bullies.
I still recollect what he told me, " You will go through so much afore decide that your life is frivolous, but when you stepped into my life that
transmuted aeonianly.." After going through all that, auricularly discerning those words, I never forgot who he was and what he betokened to me.
Now this is what led up to his endeavor of killing himself. I had just got the third grade to a school down Denni St. called Arnold Elementary School.
Just as I got there, I was already dumbfounded and very disoriented, especially being the incipient kid and not having any friends. At first, I was
genuinely quiet and did not communicate to anyone for the first few months. All of a sudden one afternoon at lunch on the twenty–fourth day from
school starting, extreme auditory perceiver pinching screams bolted out from this boy, around the same age as me, but I never had clue who he was
or why he kept shouting, So my curious side decided to go over there and observe. Thank God that I had the chance to step in and do the right thing.
Bunch of kids were circumventing him calling him names , teasing, and pushing him around. "Haha! Optically canvass this fatty, Amgad come on over
here and visually examine this, he is so uncomely, I wonder why he is even alive." As outrпїЅ I was at that moment because I have never, have I ever
been in any situation like that in my whole life, yet! I step in and confront the bullies, so I can optically discern what is the issue is.
"Hey! What the hell guys! Why are you guys bullying him and what is your quandary Matt. Matt was the "Alpha Male" at our school at that time.
Matt assuredly owned everyone and wanted everyone to heedfully auricularly discern him. Woefully the reason he did such things to people because
he was messed himself. For instance, his mother and father had been in a car crash only seven months ago, plus on top of all that was his own family

Watching TV is Bad for Children (Argumentative Essay)
Today, people of different races and generations become victims of TV addiction. Some people watch television because they want to be updated
about what is happening in the world. They want to be aware and get connected with different people all around the globe. Nowadays, not only adults
and teenagers, but also children, get hooked on television. Because of the busy world people are living in today, parents do not have time to take care
and look after their children at all times anymore. Therefore, children have more freedom to do whatever they want, and in this case, watch whatever
TV show they want – be it classified as GP, PG–13, or even R–18. It can not be avoided that children...show more content...
(What the Researchers Are Saying, n.d.) It may lead children to be anti–social and not want to be out in the real world anymore. Children will think
that what victims on TV have experienced will also happen to them. Most children also have a hard time distinguishing fantasy from reality that is why
watching TV causes trauma on children.
Television causes trauma on children, otherwise, desensitization. They will think thatviolence is acceptable and just normal in society. According to
Cline, Croft, and Courrier in their 1973 study, people, especially children who are exposed to media violence, tend to be less disturbed when they
witness real world violence, and have less sympathy for its victims. (What the Researchers Are Saying, n.d.) Media violence will cause the children to
overestimate their risk of being victimized by crime, believe their community is unsafe, and assume that the crime rate is increasing even when it is
not. (What the Researchers Are Saying, n.d.)
On the other hand, there are also studies by Andre Gosselin, Jacques de Guise and Guy Paquette in 1997 that show that watching television does not
cause viewers to be fearful, but even cause them to be happier and more optimistic about life. (What the Researchers Are Saying, n.d.) That may be
true for some, but researches of Professors Singer, Slovak, Frierson, and York in

Persuasive Essay On Character Education
So there I was sitting on the front steps of my house with my head in my hands. Tear after tear rolling off my face into a puddle in my hands. Now
realizing that everyone could see me, I went inside to meet my mom sitting at the table just inside. I turn my head the other way, trying to hide my
puffy eyes and runny nose. She looks up from her computer and over her reading glasses and says softly, "What's wrong dear?". Shaking my head, I
shoot up the steps and slam my bedroom door behind me. I am in my room and feeling alone, once again for the 100th time today, I pull out my
journal and start writing everything that happened to me. My journal is almost full and it's only October, I write. How am I supposed to be able to
continue on and let this just happen to me, I continue. People's character is something that is often questioned. Kids are not getting the kind of
guidance at home that they need, they do not know right from wrong. This issue is something that needs to be addressed more in schools. Our society
may be growing in technology, but our society will not be able to continue to grow successfully if the children nowadays are not growing up respectful.
The young children will not have the ability to be successful. Although character education is important and is positive, but it would not be beneficial to
have a lesson in every class, every day.
Starting the character education young would be very beneficial, that way kids are exposed young. The education would

Persuasive Essay: Why A Good Grade Is Better?
I write to you in hopes that I can persuade you to raise my semester average by ten points. It's my belief that I could need it; it's better to be safe than
sorry, right? Good grades cause people to be happier, and if even a little bit of happiness can be found amidst the stress and anxiety of high school,
wouldn't you like to be a part of it?
People come and go, times change, but our current constant is that grades are the numbers that rule the rest of our lives. Get bad grades and you
likely won't get hired, but if you get good grades, you'll have a decent chance, regardless of what you actually know. That is why I mustn't pass this
opportunity up, because, while I believe I've a good grasp on the information, a higher grade cannot hurt in the long run....show more content...
Life can be chaotic and has distractions, and I don't mean internet–wise, though I won't deny that that plays a part, too. I could work harder, and
probably ought to, but as evidence has shown, that leads to overthinking and an inability to properly complete the assignment due to the fact that I
could always make it better. I don't want that, you don't want that, wouldn't this be easier for both of us?
I don't fully believe that I deserve this buffer, but if I can persuade you to change it, then I must be doing better than I thought. If I can persuade you,
then I have earned it. I don't believe that grades should be offered without work having been shown, so I do what I can without overcomplicating the
assignments.
It's my hope that you will consider this letter when you look over the grades and decide who does and doesn't deserve the buffer. As a young student
struggling to find his way through the chaos of high school, I hope these words hit their mark and that you will hear this plea. High school can be so
stressful that this would be very

Fifth grade promotion essay My fifth grade promotion started off okay, I went to my classroom to say my goodbyes to all my friends who were
moving or going to a different school, and to get instructions on what and what not to do. As my teacher kept going over how to line up outside the
auditorium and how to walk to your seat when they call your name. I remember this one girl who was crying so much that they had to call her
parents in but eventually she stopped crying and we could start the show. At about half past nine we walking to the auditorium where we were to wait
until our current principal Mrs. Erskine was finished with her speech. Then after so many long minutes her speech ended and one by one she called

Persuasive Essay On The Education System
Every student is bound to cheat at one point during their educational career. The reason why is to get a higher grade. Educational Institutions value
high grades rather than to value learning, that is what turns students to cheat. Students are taught on how to take tests not learn about the material. But
that is to name one of the many factors that cause the current education system to fail. Therefore, students are not getting the highest quality of
education possible that is essentially the goal of every educational institution.
Standardized testing is excessive and does not represent how much a student has learned, not only it puts pressure on students it also puts pressure on
teachers. On top of standardized testing, a lot of schools are overcrowded thus decreases the attention that is needed for each student in order to
succeed. Not only there is a problem with testing and classroom sizes, teachers also are not well educated and prepared for the expectations made by
larger classroom sizes and the pressure to educate students so that they can achieve high test scores. To further acknowledge the flaws of the current
education system, institutions should not only gauge a student's academic achievement through their grades, it should also be through progress
throughout a broader lifespan. Grades and standardized tests only capture a frame on this lifespan therefore academic achievement should also be
measured through the improvement and progress of a student's learning.

Persuasive Essay On Online Education
Online education is helping many students get a better education. This can be for many reasons. Some reasons could include things like a more
flexible schedule. Of course their are some that believe that online schools are not a good option because they do not offer students face to face time
with teachers, but online schools can be a great way to educate the children of tomorrow because it allows for students in rural areas to get the same
education as somebody in the city and the flexible nature of online school allows students to have more time to be with their family, friends and to do
the activities they love.
One of the great things about online education is that it gives students in rural areas the same education as those in large urban areas. This is because
of many things but most importantly it is because online systems allow for more courses then a small town would be able to provide (Orgill, Jason,
and Douglas Hervey). Having more courses is important because it gives students the opportunity to take deep dives into areas that they are very
interested in. This is an opportunity that many students that live in rural areas don't get because there school simply does not have enough students to
provide those courses. Giving students in rural areas the same course opportunities as those in urban areas is just one of the reasons online education is
so important.
Another great thing about online education is that allows student athletes to have enough time with their families while also putting huge amounts
of time into training and school. The reason athletes get the time they need is because at an online school "you work at your own pace" And on
your own schedule (Snyder, Tom). I know from personal experience being a student athlete in a brick and mortar school is difficult. You wake up
early try and finish your homework, then go directly to school. Then after school you go to training and then more training then maybe you go to the
gym and then finally you get home and you are so tired you just fall into bed. This is really tough because you get hardly any time to spend with your
family and friend. In an online school system you can do your work wherever you are and whenever you have time. This

Persuasive Essay On Owning A Pet
Many pet owners perceive to say that having a pet is the best thing in the whole world. In the United States, about 63% of households have a furry
friend to call their own. They come in many different colors and sizes that make them unique and fun to play with. However, owning a pet anywhere
can be very controversial. Some people think that owning a pet can throw away most their money that they earn on a day to day basis. Even if that
might be true, pets can also benefit people in many ways that is worth spending a little extra money. In my opinion, I think that everyone should have a
pet of their own because they can improve health, can provide entertainment, and create a special friendship or companionship with its owner. (6)
First, owning a pet can give people some major health benefits. Without a pet, a day at work or school can be stressful. By the end of the day, people
could be ripping out their hair or throwing papers everywhere. This can make anyone's heart rate go up as well as their blood pressure. Thankfully,
studies have shown that interacting with a dog or other pet can lower his or her's cortisol levels. For instance, after only three months, a group of
people working with dogs were shown to have significant drops in blood pressure and stress. Pet's happy go lucky vibes can impact their owners to
feel the same, lowering his or her's stress level. Even when someone sees a picture of their pet when they're stressed, it can immediately cause his or
her's heart

Persuasive Essay On Letter Grades
Historically, letter grades have served as a tool to rate educational intelligence. By looking at the progression of a student's grades over time, people
are able to determine whether or not the students are developing skills in certain areas. Using a one letter grade to determine progress has received
many critiques as a common system used in America's education. Critics claim letter grades cause students motivation and creativity to decrease
because grades shift students focus from learning the material to obtaining a good grade. Letter grades were introduced into American schools in
1911. The grading system was originally created in Europe in the 17th century as a means to rank students based on tests. By the 1930s and 40s, most

The pressure to uphold a grade motivates students to look for and memorize the information on upcoming tests. Furthermore, students will be more
likely to opt for projects and classes with more basic content to learn because easier classes increase the student's likelihood of receiving an A. To
students, the easy way out is the right way since the success of gaining an A on transcripts has become more important than learning.
One example demonstrating that grades lead to limited learning of material, can be illustrated by a study that was conducted of students, some of
whom were graded. One group of students was told about being graded and the other group was not. The group who was "told they'd be graded on
how well they learned a social studies lesson had more trouble understanding the main point of the text than did students who were told that no grades
would be involved" (Kohn). This experiment shows how students concerned getting a good grade detracts from the students overall understanding. In
my experience, students have so much homework, activities, and pressure to excel that it becomes challenging to learn topics outside of those being
assigned. For example, in order to complete history worksheets, students do not always read the passages to find the answers, but rather skim the
passage for keywords

Schools have been using the same learning techniques for a long time. Since technology has been evolving, there are changes that have made
schooling harder, and some changes that have made schooling easier. For example, instead of using paper and pencil students now have iPads and
their own laptops to do their school work on. Are these more advanced changes for the better, and make learning more convenient, or are they
unfavorable and make schooling complicated and more problematic? Most examples lead to the conclusion that laptops are more convenient. for the
reason, that they make school work easier and generate easy access to sites for research.
During the beginning of my Highschool career everybody was given an iPad; grade six to grade twelve. However not everybody is fond of the iPads.
Many students, throughout the long school days, have come up to the library to check out a laptop because they either "lost" their iPad, or they just
don't want to use it. Many students have tried to check out laptops even when they have their fully functioning iPads, so now whenever you want to
check out a laptop you have to leave your phone for collaboration. In almost every class teachers use the iPads, but not all teachers are fond of the
iPads either. Some teachers continue to use paper and pencil because it's more of a convenience to them.
Laptops are more convenient for me to use because of the classes I'm currently taking. Such as my CIS comp, CIS world history, and my

Persuasive Essay On Education Reform
Educational reform is yet to be perfected. Teachers shape the minds of students to realize what their purpose is in life. Lately, because of certain
educational reforms, it has been hard for teachers to say what they need to say. "In 40–plus states, the math and English guidelines determine the
knowledge students have to master by the end of each grade, what they'll be tested on this year, and in many cases, how teachers and principals will
be rated at their jobs once those test scores are released" (Strauss). Most educational reforms are adopting standardized testing and should be
reconsidered. Statistics even show that since we have taken part in reforms like No Child Left Behind, Race to the Top, and Common Core State
Standards math and reading are declining. These standards tell teachers what to teach and what the students should know by the end of the school year.
The reforms also evaluate teacher performance by how well the students learn the information. Some people believe educational reforms should not be
telling teachers how to teach their students, and others believe that the reforms are absolutely fine the way they are. However the truth is educational
reforms are yet to be perfected.
One point of view a person could have about educational reform is that students throughout the country should all have the same high–quality
standards. Issues and Controversies states,"All states should adhere to similar academic standards so that American youth are

Persuasive Speech On Too Much Homework
Everyday I wake up and get ready for yet another gruesome school day. As I do this, I find myself filled with stress, anxiety, and honestly just a pure
hatred, for the massive amount of homework that is going to pile up as the day drags on. Is that really how it how it should be? I personally feel that
students are being forced under a lot of pressure because of the overwhelming amounts of homework that is assigned to them. Before you begin with the
eyerolls and rebuttals as to why homework is important to our education, let me just I agree with you! Homework isn't entirely useless, and it has many
great qualities, but the immense amounts tend to be too much for us to bear. Too much homework can really be a problem for students, some have

Yes, I understand that sometimes I need more help on certain topics and sometimes students do need more help with something, but I think that
teachers should still have more of a limit to how much homework they can assign, given the fat that they are only one of the seven other classes we
have to take and that's not including other out–of–school activities and clubs we are taking part in.
Along with homework being too repetitive, it can also be damaging to our physical and mental health. Fow example, sleep. So many students, not
only in my school, are losing a lot of sleep due to all of the homework, as I said before, that they have to complete after arriving home. For me, after
getting home from a sporting event at midnight, showering, doing chores, probably eating, doing my homework, and preparing for the next day of
school, it is usually sometime around 3 o'clock at night before I actually crawl into bed. That's ridiculous! A Lot like my elders (teacher, parents,
grandparents etc.) are always nagging about us staying up all night scrolling on Instagram or Twitter and watching Youtube, I think they should also be
doing something about the insane amounts of homework that we have keeping us up all night. My parents don't let me have my phone in my room at
night because they think/know that I will be up all night playing on it, but

Persuasive Essay On Choices In Life
I believe that everyone in this life has choices. The choices we make define who we are as people and what we stand for. Choosing one path over
another may be the best or worst decision you could ever make. However, once you have chosen, stick to your decision because you made that choice
for a reason. Even if it is to have lunch at a certain restaurant over another, or a bigger decision like choosing your major. Something in your life helped
you make that decision, and the worst thing you can do is live your life with the regret of a choice. If your decision ends up badly, simply make another
choice. Choose a new path. In the words of my oh so wise History teacher, "Never second guess yourself because that's worse than making the
wrong choice in the end." One of the best examples that comes to mind is a story I heard a few weeks ago, based on a real event. In 1979, a man
named Lee Strobel and his family went to a restaurant one evening and he gave his 7 year old daughter a nickel to get a gumball from the machine
and a few moments later, she came back to the table choking on the gum. They didn't know what to do and if they waited for an ambulance they
feared it would be too late. All of a sudden, a woman came up and said that she is a nurse and can help. The woman, after getting the gumball out of
the little girl, told her parents that her and her husband were headed to another restaurant when all of a sudden she made a last minute choice to go
here. Because of her choice, a little girl's life was saved. Hearing stories such as this one, reminds me of all of the choices I have made, and how they
have affected me.
When I was 6, my family up and moved to a new school called Knox County. I loved it there for I had so many friends and nothing bad ever
happened. Then at the end of 5th grade, my dad got a new job so we moved schools again. This time I was 11 and starting middle school at a small
school called Pilot Grove, and I've been here ever since. There are times I catch myself wondering what would've happened if we had stayed in Knox
or the first town I ever lived in, Philadelphia (no not the one in Pennsylvania). Sometimes I even believe that things would be a lot better if we had
stayed there. There are

Persuasive Essay On TV's Impact

  • 1. Persuasive Essay On My Grade Dr. Corbin, I do apologize for any inconvenience I may be causing you, but I have questions about my grade in swrk 630 as well as the finish. I would like to know where I said as far as my grade in the course. I also have questions about the final. Are we using the case study presented by another group to complete this paper? Could you please give me a little more detail? Thank You Denisha L. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Middle School Persuasive Essay The fear of finals, the stress of studying, the frenzy to fit in. All of these feelings boil up to one thing: Middle School. Although at times it may seem that one small incident might be the end of the world, by taking certain precautions and following basic social rules, it will seem as though you danced through your middle school years. In the midst of the rigorous academics of St. Michael's, the perplexity of social events, and the excitement of entering the hallowed halls of high school, you can easily navigate your eighth grade journey by listening to the advice of an eighth grader who has been through it all. Homework, tests, quizzes, oh my! Thinking about the pile of assignments that are going to be laid at your feet might cause anxiety, ...show more content... From that point of view, I cannot put in my two cents yet, but I can say that a lot more goes into the preparation part of high school than is portrayed in the cinematic world. First and foremost, the most important step in preparing for high school is choosing where you will be spending your next four years. When doing this, look at what the school offers. If you are interested in a sport, such as basketball or volleyball, does the school have a strong team in that sport? If you are looking for a rigorous academic program, will that school offer you a challenge? One of the most difficult parts about picking the best school for you is having the input of others. Where your friends are attending school the next year is a big wavering factor on your decision. Keep in mind that there will be over a thousand students at your new school, with plenty of friends to choose from. I can speak from personal experience when I say that it is nerve–racking to think of having a completely fresh start, but at the same time, it allows for a sigh of relief. Accelerated biology, honors geometry, theatre, engineering, and the list goes on and on. With a list of choices that could stretch across the ocean, how is one supposed to be limited to seven classes a day? The next most crucial thing in the mapping out of your high school expedition is picking your classes, and if you Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Persuasive Essay About High School Starting school when you're four years old changes tremendously to when you're seventeen or eighteen. There are a few things about school that remain the same, but many more changes are made throughout the years. Gradually homework gets harder and more complex, teachers change, different activities are added, and much more. Elementary is just the base of what your life will be like in the future. High School prepares you more for the rest of your life and is when you individually get to have options and decisions to make. Elementary school consists of learning vocabulary (words), making friends, basic math, and playing outside for recess. The classes you take in Elementary are mandatory. You have to take Math, Science, Language Arts, P.E., Music, Social Studies, Art, and Reading without have a choice on which class to take. There are no complex levels of classes that you can take. Everyone is in the same class and it's usually with the same teacher. For example, your third grade teacher would teach all your classes to you and you would stay in the same room for almost the whole day besides for Art, Music, and P.E. There are normally three teachers for each grade which means your entire grade would be split up into three groups and those are the groups you'll be with the whole year. Recess and lunch was the only times you could see your other friends that are in your grade. Everyone in first through sixth grade do not have any classes together, it is strictly grade by Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Why Grades Are Important Essay Yes, grades are an effective means of motivating students to do their best work. If there were no grades why the students would like to work hard? Do not they want to enjoy luxury and comforts in their youth? Surely, students want to enjoy their youth with luxury and comforts. They can not judge themselves because they have no scale of judgment. It is the instructor only who judges the students comparatively and gives grades to them accordingly. In this way, by receiving their grades students recognize their positions in the class. If their positions came to be low, they then try to achieve higher positions by working hard because they want to achieve their goal of becoming great persons. As it is the nature of all the human beings that no...show more content... The farmer does his best to make his fields fit for better growth of the crops only in the hope of getting a good variety of crops so that they may help him in earning high money. If he will not be able to get high money by producing a good variety of crops he will probably increase his working hours to achieve his purpose because he does his work only for earning money to live in. Similar is the case with the students. Students work because they want their instructor to give them high grades. Their future career depends on their grades they have made at this level. If they got high grade their future will be bright because everyone gives credit to grades. Therefore, if students will get credit for their work they will work even better for getting more and more credit. Otherwise, they will shirk work hard. Furthermore, God will also give rewards to those people who have done good deeds in this world. That is why; all people do their best of doing good deeds so that they may be able to get reward from God on their sacrifices and hardships. If there would be no reward from God, no one would want to do good deeds by facing hardships. Every one would be free to committing sins or other bad deeds which will results in turmoil of the world. Same is the case with the students. If the instructor gives them grades for their individual work they will Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Persuasive Speech About Bullying Today I am going to be verbalizing about a vigorous of how I preserved my friends life, to this day he is still alive because of me. This was not your average case of just a simple kid getting bullied, after aurally perceiving this it will definitely change how you handle and visually perceive bullies. I still recollect what he told me, " You will go through so much afore decide that your life is frivolous, but when you stepped into my life that transmuted aeonianly.." After going through all that, auricularly discerning those words, I never forgot who he was and what he betokened to me. Now this is what led up to his endeavor of killing himself. I had just got the third grade to a school down Denni St. called Arnold Elementary School. Just as I got there, I was already dumbfounded and very disoriented, especially being the incipient kid and not having any friends. At first, I was genuinely quiet and did not communicate to anyone for the first few months. All of a sudden one afternoon at lunch on the twenty–fourth day from school starting, extreme auditory perceiver pinching screams bolted out from this boy, around the same age as me, but I never had clue who he was or why he kept shouting, So my curious side decided to go over there and observe. Thank God that I had the chance to step in and do the right thing. Bunch of kids were circumventing him calling him names , teasing, and pushing him around. "Haha! Optically canvass this fatty, Amgad come on over here and visually examine this, he is so uncomely, I wonder why he is even alive." As outrпїЅ I was at that moment because I have never, have I ever been in any situation like that in my whole life, yet! Woefully the reason he did such things to people because he was messed himself. For instance, his mother and father had been in a car crash only seven months ago, plus on top of all that was his own family relatives did not optate to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Watching TV is Bad for Children (Argumentative Essay) Today, people of different races and generations become victims of TV addiction. Some people watch television because they want to be updated about what is happening in the world. They want to be aware and get connected with different people all around the globe. Nowadays, not only adults and teenagers, but also children, get hooked on television. Because of the busy world people are living in today, parents do not have time to take care and look after their children at all times anymore. Therefore, children have more freedom to do whatever they want, and in this case, watch whatever TV show they want – be it classified as GP, PG–13, or even R–18. It can not be avoided that children...show more content... (What the Researchers Are Saying, n.d.) It may lead children to be anti–social and not want to be out in the real world anymore. Children will think that what victims on TV have experienced will also happen to them. Most children also have a hard time distinguishing fantasy from reality that is why watching TV causes trauma on children. Television causes trauma on children, otherwise, desensitization. They will think thatviolence is acceptable and just normal in society. According to Cline, Croft, and Courrier in their 1973 study, people, especially children who are exposed to media violence, tend to be less disturbed when they witness real world violence, and have less sympathy for its victims. (What the Researchers Are Saying, n.d.) Media violence will cause the children to overestimate their risk of being victimized by crime, believe their community is unsafe, and assume that the crime rate is increasing even when it is not. (What the Researchers Are Saying, n.d.) On the other hand, there are also studies by Andre Gosselin, Jacques de Guise and Guy Paquette in 1997 that show that watching television does not cause viewers to be fearful, but even cause them to be happier and more optimistic about life. (What the Researchers Are Saying, n.d.) That may be true for some, but researches of Professors Singer, Slovak, Frierson, and York in Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Persuasive Essay On Character Education So there I was sitting on the front steps of my house with my head in my hands. Tear after tear rolling off my face into a puddle in my hands. Now realizing that everyone could see me, I went inside to meet my mom sitting at the table just inside. I turn my head the other way, trying to hide my puffy eyes and runny nose. She looks up from her computer and over her reading glasses and says softly, "What's wrong dear?". Shaking my head, I shoot up the steps and slam my bedroom door behind me. I am in my room and feeling alone, once again for the 100th time today, I pull out my journal and start writing everything that happened to me. My journal is almost full and it's only October, I write. How am I supposed to be able to continue on and let this just happen to me, I continue. People's character is something that is often questioned. Kids are not getting the kind of guidance at home that they need, they do not know right from wrong. This issue is something that needs to be addressed more in schools. Our society may be growing in technology, but our society will not be able to continue to grow successfully if the children nowadays are not growing up respectful. The young children will not have the ability to be successful. Although character education is important and is positive, but it would not be beneficial to have a lesson in every class, every day. Starting the character education young would be very beneficial, that way kids are exposed young. The education would Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Persuasive Essay: Why A Good Grade Is Better? I write to you in hopes that I can persuade you to raise my semester average by ten points. It's my belief that I could need it; it's better to be safe than sorry, right? Good grades cause people to be happier, and if even a little bit of happiness can be found amidst the stress and anxiety of high school, wouldn't you like to be a part of it? People come and go, times change, but our current constant is that grades are the numbers that rule the rest of our lives. Get bad grades and you likely won't get hired, but if you get good grades, you'll have a decent chance, regardless of what you actually know. That is why I mustn't pass this opportunity up, because, while I believe I've a good grasp on the information, a higher grade cannot hurt in the long run....show more content... Life can be chaotic and has distractions, and I don't mean internet–wise, though I won't deny that that plays a part, too. I could work harder, and probably ought to, but as evidence has shown, that leads to overthinking and an inability to properly complete the assignment due to the fact that I could always make it better. I don't want that, you don't want that, wouldn't this be easier for both of us? I don't fully believe that I deserve this buffer, but if I can persuade you to change it, then I must be doing better than I thought. If I can persuade you, then I have earned it. I don't believe that grades should be offered without work having been shown, so I do what I can without overcomplicating the assignments. It's my hope that you will consider this letter when you look over the grades and decide who does and doesn't deserve the buffer. As a young student struggling to find his way through the chaos of high school, I hope these words hit their mark and that you will hear this plea. High school can be so stressful that this would be very Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Fifth Grade Promotion Essay Fifth grade promotion essay My fifth grade promotion started off okay, I went to my classroom to say my goodbyes to all my friends who were moving or going to a different school, and to get instructions on what and what not to do. As my teacher kept going over how to line up outside the auditorium and how to walk to your seat when they call your name. I remember this one girl who was crying so much that they had to call her parents in but eventually she stopped crying and we could start the show. At about half past nine we walking to the auditorium where we were to wait until our current principal Mrs. Erskine was finished with her speech. • 10. Persuasive Essay On The Education System Every student is bound to cheat at one point during their educational career. The reason why is to get a higher grade. Educational Institutions value high grades rather than to value learning, that is what turns students to cheat. Students are taught on how to take tests not learn about the material. But that is to name one of the many factors that cause the current education system to fail. Therefore, students are not getting the highest quality of education possible that is essentially the goal of every educational institution. Standardized testing is excessive and does not represent how much a student has learned, not only it puts pressure on students it also puts pressure on teachers. On top of standardized testing, a lot of schools are overcrowded thus decreases the attention that is needed for each student in order to succeed. Not only there is a problem with testing and classroom sizes, teachers also are not well educated and prepared for the expectations made by larger classroom sizes and the pressure to educate students so that they can achieve high test scores. To further acknowledge the flaws of the current education system, institutions should not only gauge a student's academic achievement through their grades, it should also be through progress throughout a broader lifespan. Grades and standardized tests only capture a frame on this lifespan therefore academic achievement should also be measured through the improvement and progress of a student's learning. • 11. Persuasive Essay On Online Education Online education is helping many students get a better education. This can be for many reasons. Some reasons could include things like a more flexible schedule. Of course their are some that believe that online schools are not a good option because they do not offer students face to face time with teachers, but online schools can be a great way to educate the children of tomorrow because it allows for students in rural areas to get the same education as somebody in the city and the flexible nature of online school allows students to have more time to be with their family, friends and to do the activities they love. One of the great things about online education is that it gives students in rural areas the same education as those in large urban areas. This is because of many things but most importantly it is because online systems allow for more courses then a small town would be able to provide (Orgill, Jason, and Douglas Hervey). Having more courses is important because it gives students the opportunity to take deep dives into areas that they are very interested in. This is an opportunity that many students that live in rural areas don't get because there school simply does not have enough students to provide those courses. Giving students in rural areas the same course opportunities as those in urban areas is just one of the reasons online education is so important. Another great thing about online education is that allows student athletes to have enough time with their families while also putting huge amounts of time into training and school. The reason athletes get the time they need is because at an online school "you work at your own pace" And on your own schedule (Snyder, Tom). I know from personal experience being a student athlete in a brick and mortar school is difficult. You wake up early try and finish your homework, then go directly to school. Then after school you go to training and then more training then maybe you go to the gym and then finally you get home and you are so tired you just fall into bed. This is really tough because you get hardly any time to spend with your family and friend. In an online school system you can do your work wherever you are and whenever you have time. • 12. Persuasive Essay On Owning A Pet Many pet owners perceive to say that having a pet is the best thing in the whole world. In the United States, about 63% of households have a furry friend to call their own. They come in many different colors and sizes that make them unique and fun to play with. However, owning a pet anywhere can be very controversial. Some people think that owning a pet can throw away most their money that they earn on a day to day basis. Even if that might be true, pets can also benefit people in many ways that is worth spending a little extra money. In my opinion, I think that everyone should have a pet of their own because they can improve health, can provide entertainment, and create a special friendship or companionship with its owner. (6) First, owning a pet can give people some major health benefits. Without a pet, a day at work or school can be stressful. By the end of the day, people could be ripping out their hair or throwing papers everywhere. This can make anyone's heart rate go up as well as their blood pressure. Thankfully, studies have shown that interacting with a dog or other pet can lower his or her's cortisol levels. For instance, after only three months, a group of people working with dogs were shown to have significant drops in blood pressure and stress. Pet's happy go lucky vibes can impact their owners to feel the same, lowering his or her's stress level. • 13. Persuasive Essay On Letter Grades Historically, letter grades have served as a tool to rate educational intelligence. By looking at the progression of a student's grades over time, people are able to determine whether or not the students are developing skills in certain areas. Using a one letter grade to determine progress has received many critiques as a common system used in America's education. Critics claim letter grades cause students motivation and creativity to decrease because grades shift students focus from learning the material to obtaining a good grade. Letter grades were introduced into American schools in 1911. The grading system was originally created in Europe in the 17th century as a means to rank students based on tests. By the 1930s and 40s, most ...show more content... The pressure to uphold a grade motivates students to look for and memorize the information on upcoming tests. Furthermore, students will be more likely to opt for projects and classes with more basic content to learn because easier classes increase the student's likelihood of receiving an A. To students, the easy way out is the right way since the success of gaining an A on transcripts has become more important than learning. One example demonstrating that grades lead to limited learning of material, can be illustrated by a study that was conducted of students, some of whom were graded. One group of students was told about being graded and the other group was not. The group who was "told they'd be graded on how well they learned a social studies lesson had more trouble understanding the main point of the text than did students who were told that no grades would be involved" (Kohn). This experiment shows how students concerned getting a good grade detracts from the students overall understanding. In my experience, students have so much homework, activities, and pressure to excel that it becomes challenging to learn topics outside of those being assigned. For example, in order to complete history worksheets, students do not always read the passages to find the answers, but rather skim the passage for keywords Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Persuasive Essay Schools have been using the same learning techniques for a long time. Since technology has been evolving, there are changes that have made schooling harder, and some changes that have made schooling easier. For example, instead of using paper and pencil students now have iPads and their own laptops to do their school work on. Are these more advanced changes for the better, and make learning more convenient, or are they unfavorable and make schooling complicated and more problematic? Most examples lead to the conclusion that laptops are more convenient. for the reason, that they make school work easier and generate easy access to sites for research. During the beginning of my Highschool career everybody was given an iPad; grade six to grade twelve. However not everybody is fond of the iPads. Many students, throughout the long school days, have come up to the library to check out a laptop because they either "lost" their iPad, or they just don't want to use it. Many students have tried to check out laptops even when they have their fully functioning iPads, so now whenever you want to check out a laptop you have to leave your phone for collaboration. In almost every class teachers use the iPads, but not all teachers are fond of the iPads either. Some teachers continue to use paper and pencil because it's more of a convenience to them. Laptops are more convenient for me to use because of the classes I'm currently taking. Such as my CIS comp, CIS world history, and my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Persuasive Essay On Education Reform Educational reform is yet to be perfected. Teachers shape the minds of students to realize what their purpose is in life. Lately, because of certain educational reforms, it has been hard for teachers to say what they need to say. "In 40–plus states, the math and English guidelines determine the knowledge students have to master by the end of each grade, what they'll be tested on this year, and in many cases, how teachers and principals will be rated at their jobs once those test scores are released" (Strauss). Most educational reforms are adopting standardized testing and should be reconsidered. Statistics even show that since we have taken part in reforms like No Child Left Behind, Race to the Top, and Common Core State Standards math and reading are declining. These standards tell teachers what to teach and what the students should know by the end of the school year. The reforms also evaluate teacher performance by how well the students learn the information. Some people believe educational reforms should not be telling teachers how to teach their students, and others believe that the reforms are absolutely fine the way they are. However the truth is educational reforms are yet to be perfected. One point of view a person could have about educational reform is that students throughout the country should all have the same high–quality standards. Issues and Controversies states,"All states should adhere to similar academic standards so that American youth are Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 17. Persuasive Speech On Too Much Homework Everyday I wake up and get ready for yet another gruesome school day. As I do this, I find myself filled with stress, anxiety, and honestly just a pure hatred, for the massive amount of homework that is going to pile up as the day drags on. Is that really how it how it should be? I personally feel that students are being forced under a lot of pressure because of the overwhelming amounts of homework that is assigned to them. Before you begin with the eyerolls and rebuttals as to why homework is important to our education, let me just I agree with you! Homework isn't entirely useless, and it has many great qualities, but the immense amounts tend to be too much for us to bear. Too much homework can really be a problem for students, some have ...show more content... Yes, I understand that sometimes I need more help on certain topics and sometimes students do need more help with something, but I think that teachers should still have more of a limit to how much homework they can assign, given the fat that they are only one of the seven other classes we have to take and that's not including other out–of–school activities and clubs we are taking part in. Along with homework being too repetitive, it can also be damaging to our physical and mental health. Fow example, sleep. So many students, not only in my school, are losing a lot of sleep due to all of the homework, as I said before, that they have to complete after arriving home. For me, after getting home from a sporting event at midnight, showering, doing chores, probably eating, doing my homework, and preparing for the next day of school, it is usually sometime around 3 o'clock at night before I actually crawl into bed. That's ridiculous! A Lot like my elders (teacher, parents, grandparents etc.) are always nagging about us staying up all night scrolling on Instagram or Twitter and watching Youtube, I think they should also be doing something about the insane amounts of homework that we have keeping us up all night. My parents don't let me have my phone in my room at night because they think/know that I will be up all night playing on it, but Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 19. Persuasive Essay On Choices In Life I believe that everyone in this life has choices. The choices we make define who we are as people and what we stand for. Choosing one path over another may be the best or worst decision you could ever make. However, once you have chosen, stick to your decision because you made that choice for a reason. Even if it is to have lunch at a certain restaurant over another, or a bigger decision like choosing your major. Something in your life helped you make that decision, and the worst thing you can do is live your life with the regret of a choice. If your decision ends up badly, simply make another choice. Choose a new path. In the words of my oh so wise History teacher, "Never second guess yourself because that's worse than making the wrong choice in the end." One of the best examples that comes to mind is a story I heard a few weeks ago, based on a real event. In 1979, a man named Lee Strobel and his family went to a restaurant one evening and he gave his 7 year old daughter a nickel to get a gumball from the machine and a few moments later, she came back to the table choking on the gum. They didn't know what to do and if they waited for an ambulance they feared it would be too late. All of a sudden, a woman came up and said that she is a nurse and can help. The woman, after getting the gumball out of the little girl, told her parents that her and her husband were headed to another restaurant when all of a sudden she made a last minute choice to go here. Because of her choice, a little girl's life was saved. Hearing stories such as this one, reminds me of all of the choices I have made, and how they have affected me. When I was 6, my family up and moved to a new school called Knox County. I loved it there for I had so many friends and nothing bad ever happened. Then at the end of 5th grade, my dad got a new job so we moved schools again. This time I was 11 and starting middle school at a small school called Pilot Grove, and I've been here ever since. There are times I catch myself wondering what would've happened if we had stayed in Knox or the first town I ever lived in, Philadelphia (no not the one in Pennsylvania). Sometimes I even believe that things would be a lot better if we had stayed there. There are Get more content on HelpWriting.net
