cultural heritage, and there are several famous arts from
this region.
3. Ati-Atihan Festival
This festival is held in Kalibo, Aklan, where participants paint
their faces with black soot, wear traditional Visayan clothing,
and dance vigorously in the streets to honor the Santo Niño
(Child Jesus).
Pintados Festival
Celebrated in Tacloban City, Leyte, the Pintados Festival
showcases the historical tattooed warriors known as the
"Pintados." Participants wear colorful body paint and intricate
tribal-inspired costumes, accompanied by rhythmic music and

4. Patadyong Weaving
Patadyong is a traditional handwoven fabric
from Region 6, particularly in Panay Island.

the region's weaving traditions.
5. Piña Cloth Making
Pineapple fiber, known as piña, is used in the
production of delicate and intricately woven fabric.
The process involves extracting the fibers from
pineapple leaves, hand-spinning them, and
weaving them into luxurious textiles. Aklan and
Antique are known for their piña cloth.
6. Talisay Clay Pottery
Talisay City in Negros Occidental is known for its
clay pottery. Skilled artisans produce a wide
range of pottery products, including functional
kitchenware and decorative items. The clay used
is sourced locally and the finished products are
often vibrant, featuring unique designs and
patterns.
7. Soli-Soli
Handicraft
Soli-Soli is a traditional handicraft from Iloilo City,
where dried leaves from local plants such as date
palm, pandan, and buri are intricately woven to
create various products such as hats, bags, mats,
and fans.
8. Binanog Dance
Originating from Panay Island, the Binanog dance is inspired by
the movements of the Philippine eagle. Dancers mimic the
bird's graceful flight through their choreography, wearing
elaborate costumes adorned with feathers and masks.
Kuratsa Dance
Kuratsa is a lively and flirtatious dance originating from the
Filipino-Spanish mestizo communities in Iloilo and Antique. The
dance is often performed during festive occasions and
showcases the interplay between a man and a woman,
expressing courtship and love.
