2. COSTUME FOR CATE
-Dark eye makeup to show that she is going out to
a party
-Red lips because it is a conventionally seductive
element
-The black dress is simple and has a zipper on the
back witch is a key shot in the sequence
-Her rings are also a shot in the sequence there for
they need to be fairly simple and non distracting
- her nails need to be painted and again, red is a
conventionally seductive colour
3. COSTUME FOR COLTON
Colton’s outfit is very different in contrast to Cate’s because
we want to show the audience that they are doing two very
different things. He has very casual wear.
-Band T shirt of Polish Metal band with rape claim
-Zipper jacket that’s part of a key shot
-vans because it is a very basic item in a young adults closet
-ripped jeans to go with the image of a rock fan
-Everything is in black to connote that he is the antagonist
4. WHERE/ HOW WILL WE GET THE COSTUMES?
The clothes will all either be ordered online, for instance that dress is actually from a website that
we plan to order from (Forever21.com
http://www.forever21.com/UK/Product/Product.aspx?br=F21&category=DRESS&productid=20002
35243 ). Since all the clothes are not specialist costumes we will most likely borrow it from
someone's wardrobe and ask the actress and actor if they have anything similar if something went
wrong. Things that could go wrong is that the clothes don’t arrive on time, and if they do they will
be in the wrong size. This can easily be prepared for by asking the actor and actress to prepare a
back up costume. The make up is very basic and can be taken from our personal items. The budget
will come out of our personal accounts as well.
5. SUMMARY
Both of their costumes are young adult and on trend because our target audience is
most likely young adults that like the genre’s of teen thriller.
7. We have two different locations, the girls room and the boys room. The girl
room is very stereotypical, we would have a few key elements to represent it.
Such as; makeup mirror, girly posters, fairy lights, girl clothes…
GIRLS ROOM IDEAS
8. The boys room will look fairly stereotypical, however it will contain some psycho
elements, like; a bulletin board with Cates pictures and dark atmosphere in general
BOYS ROOM
IDEAS
9. We may have some problems in finding the right aspects of the mise en scene
which we want to put in.
For example a bed and a wardrobe in the girls room may be an issue to set up.
However this issue is easily solved, we can imitate the idea of furniture using
similar things, for example a sofa instead of the bed (we can just make it up like
a bed).
The weather conditions don’t affect our opening scene as we will be inside all
the time.
By looking at the storyboard,
the most problematic shots
contain a mirror or a table, or
a shelf also there is a shot
when Cate exits the house
which needs to be filmed from
outside.
10. This is one other location we have to think about, when Cate
walks out of her house.
We thought of filming outside the
Lodge House in our school, It is the
nearest and most easily accessible
site for us.
11. We decided to film in the studio.
We assume that the filming process will
take us about 2 hours for each setting.
I think If we prepare all the set design
pieces in advance it will be easier to set
up and maybe will take us about half an
hour.
So overall we will spend about 5 hours in
the studio where we intend to set up our
locations.
We fill be setting up using bug white flats
to build our rooms.
The studio is in our school in the media
department, we don’t have to travel to get there
and its easily accessible.
We are given permission to film in the studio by our
teacher Jason and by Matt.
12. We chose to film in the studio because it is the most flexible
location for us, and the easiest in terms of traveling. We just
have to think about the set design and then we can set it all
up.
We chose to film at the
lodge, because it is the
nearest location to the
studio we can access
easily.
It will be easy to change
setting as we will have to put
up our props and white
board flats and we will not
face issues of weather
change.
17. CATE
• Innocent
• Ignores Colt and used him
• Unconventionally attractive. Quirky attractive.
• Doesn’t overly care about what people think of her.
• Makes effort for party.
