Slideshow detailing the props and costumes that will be used in our thriller.

1. Props and Costumes

2. Props
 Concerning the props we are planning to
use, they are all fairly simple. They are
standard things In which most people would
posses in there house or garage. This is an
advantage as it means we don’t have to
spend money on funding these things.

3. Chair
 Ethan, the victim, will be tied in a chair when he awakes
in the abandoned location. When positioned you are lower
than someone standing up. We feel this will be effective
as the killer will be looking down on Ethan as he is
higher up. This displays that he is more dominant and
authorative. We were considering using a chair that is
white therefore if we put blood onto it would be visible
and the viewers would know our victim has been hurt.

4. Cable ties/ Rope
 To prevent the victim from escaping he will have a rope
tied around him, keeping him secure in the chair, along
with a cable tie keeping his hand movement to a
minimum. This lack of movement could mirror the lack of
hope the victim of escaping or even staying alive.
Furthermore the way he is tied up and restricted gives us
the impression that the victim is perhaps being
dehumanised.

5. Stool
 Ethan will eventually be untied from the chair and led to
another room in the abandoned location. Here a stool will be
shown, one that will be used for the hanging scene. Ethan will
be seen slowly stepping onto this stool, suggesting to the
audience that he could be about to killed. This stool will be
featured in the final seen also, where the killer will be seen
about to kick it from beneath the victims feet. However the
screen will go black before contact, keeping the audience
guessing to whether he was killed or if he remained alive.


6. Hanging Rope
 Above the stool will be the rope that will tied round the victims neck.
At the start of opening there will be quick shots of this rope, hinting
to the audience that the rope will be used later on. In addition the
rope will be detailed and have hints of blood on it. This will display to
the audience that the killer is dangerous and has carried out these
ruthless acts before. We decided to use a rope as it is not as common
as others methods of killings such as a knife or gun which are seen
regularly in films.

7. Costumes
 Similar to props, we are planning on using simple
clothing, which are two characters already own.
Not only will this save us buying clothing just for
filming however it will make it more realistic and
relatable. We want the actors to wear what
teenagers would wear so teenage viewers could
perhaps relate to the film more.

8. Matt- Killer
 Our killer will be dressed in all black. We feel Black gives off negative
connotations and is quite a sinister colour. Also the dark shade is very dull,
and reveals very little about the killers personality.
 Another costume we was considering was for Matt to wear a suit, similar to
main character in the film ‘Hitman’. However we feel this would better suit
an assassin type killer as if the suit is bloodied then the murder is not
discrete.
 Accompanying the all black attire will be a mask. The mask will prevent the
audience from seeing Matt and therefore keep them guessing as to who is
behind the act. Not only does the mask protect the killers identity but it
makes him look scarier. The mask we are planning to use is black but detailed
with a white skull on it. Finally Matt will wear leather gloves. These will make
sure there could be no fingerprints.

9. Ethan- Victim
 Ethan's outfit will be very simple and casual, matching the general
stereotype for the current teenage fashion trends. His costume will
consist of a white t shirt, joggers or jeans, and some trainers. We
chose clothing that teenagers currently wear so the film can be more
relatable and realistic for teenagers that are viewing.
 At the start of the opening the t shirt Ethan will be wearing will be
plain white, in perfect condition. However when he awakes in the
abandoned location the appearance of this shirt will change. It will
distressed with rips all over, along with mud and blood on it. This will
display to the audience that our victim has been physically hurt.
