I am pleasedto provide this recommendation for Becky Derderian. While CFO, I hired
Becky at The Roberts Company in 2011 as Accounts Payable Associate. At that time,
the function was in disarray due to personnel turnover, lack of processes and
procedures, and rapid growth in the company. The function was simply overwhelmed.
Becky quickly, quietly and competently set about bringing order to chaos. She
standardized the processes for her vendors, suggestednumerous improvements in
procedures and organization, and upgraded the departmental knowledge and efficiency
in using the new ERP. Although Becky did not have prior experience in the ERP
system, she soon became the department expert. As a result of her impressive efforts,
she was promoted to Manager of Accounts Payable after less than a year in the job. Her
supervisory talents became evident as she completed the reorganization of the
department, implemented more improvements, and upgraded the personnel. As a direct
result of Becky’s leadership and work, the department now functions smoothly, vendors
are happy to know their accounts are paid on time and reconciled accurately, and cash
flow improved as she lengthened payment terms.
Additionally, Becky became the company’s expert for sale and use taxes and has begun
improving discounts taken. Finally, the personnel in the department have high morale
and productivity. I take pleasure in recommending Becky wholeheartedly.
