• Covid-19 has ‘forced’ a change in both client and provider behaviour
• Modern technology and application development makes distance
delivery a more feasible proposition
• Distance delivery offers a better experience than pure online learning
• Distance delivery won’t totally replace classroom delivery
• Opportunity to significantly reduce carbon footprint & go paperless
8. WHAT IS DISTANCE DELIVERY?
• Use of group video calling services
• Ability to record the event securely
• Ability to securely share content live
• File sharing to avoid email server overload
& revision control issues
• Interactive apps to engage learners
• Electronic document signatures

24. L4 IMPROVEMENT PRACTITIONER
I generally use the DMAIC structure to ensure structured approach to solving
more complex problems
Project and change management are key components for the project
Communication and presentation skills are also developed
25. L4 IMPROVEMENT PRACTITIONER
Students need to be confident in Maths as a level of statistical analysis skills
may be required such as:
• Standard deviation and normal distribution
• ANOVA & gauge R&R
• Chi-squared
• Linear regression
• Process stability and capability
• Statistical process control
26. L4 IMPROVEMENT PRACTITIONER
Excellent for:
• Managers needing to solve complex problems or lead others to do so
• Technical specialists developing problem solving and statistical analysis skills
• Potential Black Belts (Improvement Specialists)
I don’t normally recommend the Improvement Technician as it is quite similar but the funding is
much lower so the group sizes need to be larger
Only learners with STEM degrees, or significant experience with statistics should start on the
Improvement Specialist without first completing the Practitioner
