5. KBART Automation
• To facilitate the delivery of KBART files customized to
institutional holdings (including content an institution is
entitled to access contractually as well as content that
may be accessible for other reasons-e.g., open access).
• Automatic holdings reports can significantly reduce the
e-resource management workload for all stakeholders,
provide more reliable access to content for end users,
and contribute to increased usage for the benefit of all
6. Workplan proposal
• Analysis of current landscape
• A specification for an API for automated report
harvesting (paths/structure/configs)
• A NISO Recommended Practice that describes the API
specification and its intended use.
– Draft for public comment (and testing?) this spring
• A series of use cases that should be supported
• Prototypes
• Market education
• A list of proposed modifications to KBART to be
considered by the main KBART standing committee
