1. The results for the Financial Year (FY) 2020-21 and quarter ended 31st March 2021 was announced on
25th June 2021 post approval by the Board in its Meeting held through video conferencing. The total
income for the fourth quarter of the FY 2020-21 increased by 36.76% and stood at Rs 527.97 crores as
compared to the same period last year. While the Profit Before Tax (PBT) for the quarter ended 31st
March 2021 was Rs 106.40 crores, the net profit (PAT) for the quarter was Rs 82.36 crores. The net
income of the Company for the year was Rs 1592.77 crores registering a decline of 1.20% on the levels
achieved in 2019-20. The PBT for the year ended 31st March 2021 decreased by 32.61% to Rs 156.65
crores, the PAT decreased by 34.27% and stood at Rs 116.45 crores. The COVID-19 pandemic affected
the performance of the businesses immensely. The Board of Directors has recommended a dividend of
60% for the FY 2020-21 as against 75% dividend paid for the year 2019-20.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MOPNG), GOI observed and celebrated the Swachh Bharat
Pakhwara from 1st to 15th July. Balmer Lawrie, being an MOPNG Company, joined the celebrations.
Various activities involving the employees and the communities residing around our offices and plants
were organised during the fortnight. As part of the Swachhata Pakhwada, a social media campaign
#SwachhataSeSurakshaTak was run on the social media handles (Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn) of
Balmer Lawrie from 1st to 15th July, 2021.
Two of our SBUs - Greases & Lubricants and Travel & Vacations that have been catering to the B2C /
Retail segment, have been leveraging the social media platforms to showcase their products and
services. Brand Balmerol is present on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and Vacations
Exotica has been aggressively using Facebook and Instagram to promote various campaigns.

2. Balmer Lawrie participated in the 2nd Logistic and Supply-Chain Leadership Conclave 2021 and expo
from 30th June to 06th July 2021, on the CII Hive Platform as a digital event. The conclave included a
two-day digital conference, a workshop session and a virtual trade fair. Balmer Lawrie set-up a virtual
stall and Mr. Adhip Nath Palchaudhuri Director [Service Businesses] was one of the speakers in the
inaugural session. The Conclave was a great platform for leaders from logistics and supply chain
sectors to discuss and take a deeper look into state-of-the-art technologies, ground-breaking
strategies, supply chain optimization tools, sustainable green supply chains practices and the impact of
black swan events on global supply chain networks. The leaders delved into policy frameworks and the
National Logistics Policy, referred lessons from global case studies during the pandemic, and
deliberated on enterprise-wide strategies to identify concrete steps to position India as the Global
Logistics Hub.
Balmer Lawrie received certificates of appreciation issued by the Central Board of Indirect taxes &
Customs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India for timely return filing and sizeable payment of GST

3. In early June 2021, Greases & Lubricants - Kolkata undertook initiatives as precautionary measures at
the work place to prevent the spread of COVID-19..
In an endeavour to contain the spread of Covid-19, Balmer Lawrie organised vaccination camps for its
employees and their dependents across all regions. The Company organized a two-day vaccination
camp on 11th and 16th June 2021 in association with CMRI Hospital at its Corporate Office in Kolkata. A
total of 337 persons were inoculated. As part of the drive organised on 10th June 2021 in the Mumbai
region, 100 employees and their dependents were vaccinated at Cama and Albless Hospital, Mumbai
and MGM Hospital, Navi Mumbai. 73 and 76 employees were inoculated in the Northern and Southern
regions respectively. The camp in New Delhi was organised on 5th June 2021.

5. The 7th International Day of Yoga was observed and celebrated across all the units and establishments
of Balmer Lawrie. A webinar on benefits of yoga and meditation was organized for the employees.
Employees also participated in the slogan and poster competitions organised on the occasion.
Employees were encouraged to participate in the various virtual programs on the Common Yoga
Protocol organised by MOPNG and Ministry of AYUSH.

6. A Hindi workshop was organized on 30th June, 2021 through webinar for employees in the Eastern
Region. In this workshop, Mr. Naveen Kumar Prajapati, Advisor, Central Translation Bureau,
Government of India, Kolkata was invited as faculty. During the workshop he covered various topics
including official language policy, rules, act, administrative terminology and mainly Hindi translation.
25 Executives and Officers participated with great enthusiasm in the workshop.
OL [OFFICIAL LANGUAGE] UPDATE
As part of the Amrut Mahotsav celebrations various programs were organised during the months of
May and June. On 5th June sanitary pads were distributed to around 200 girl students of three primary
schools (Chokipada, Bhoyapada and Dungarpada) in Saily village at Silvassa. The students are from 6th
to 8th class. Balmer Lawrie has been running the capacity building project on health and hygiene in the
Saily and Khadoli villages at Silvassa in association with Swadeep Shikshan Vikas Sanstha.

7. As part of the tree plantation drives organized for Amrut Mahotsav, 150 nos. of tree saplings with mesh
protection were planted at Manali Fire & Rescue Station and their Housing complex. The CSR Team
headed by Mr. R M Uthayaraja, ED [IP & C] inaugurated the plantation program in presence of Mr.
Muruganantham, Station In-charge of Manali Fire & Rescue Service on 17th June 2021. This project was
implemented in association with Habitat for Human India Trust. They will take care of these tree
saplings for next three months by watering them on daily basis.
In the first week of June 2021, Greases & Lubricants – Kolkata distributed 3000 face masks and hand
sanitizer bottles to the local residents residing around the plant to contain the spread of COVID-19.

8. World Environment Day was celebrated on 5th June 2021 in units and establishments across locations.
While all the manufacturing and service units organised sapling plantation to increase the green cover,
an online quiz contest was organised for all employees to create awareness on key environmental
issues. Winners of the contest were given away prizes.
