3. Image for the Advert
• When scouring through the hundreds of possible
photos we could have included in our advert, we
narrowed it down to a select few of about 10,
then narrowed it down to 2 and then finally to the
one we included. We had a split decision on what
one should be our final image between the 2 final
images, but ultimately came to the decision that
the final photo was a more professional image,
with more potential in what we could do with it.
4. Editing the Image
• Initially we toyed around with many editing
techniques in an attempt to find the one that best
attracted our target audience. In the end we
came to the conclusion that the lighting effect
that was added to our final design would be best
suited and looked the most professional of all the
effects we tried. We tried to make the main
character stand out more by making the back
ground darker and the main character lighter,
catching the eye of the audience.
5. What we Needed to Include
in our Advert
• After analysing a good magazine from the
previous year and doing research into the codes
and convention on what one should include, I
found that we needed to include many features to
make it successful. We concluded that we would
need to involve several reviews from different
agencies so our audience could easily identify the
ratings of our video. Furthermore we chose to
include the release date, the name of the song,
our company logo and both our instagram and
twitter username.
6. Font Choice, Colour and
Placement
• We coined a colour scheme of red, not only because
our company logo is that colour but also because it
stands out against the greyish background, is easy
noticeable and easily readable. We decided to place
the word “congratulations” down the side of the
advert, with different phrases about the video
stringing of congratulations as we believed this was
quite an innovating and edgy technique, making the
poster more appealing. The font styling is simple, we
decided that a simple style would be best as it is the
most easiest to read.
