Researchers wanted to know if educational multimedia in dictation could benefit students with dysgraphia, an inability to write coherently due to brain damage or disease
2. The title of this research article:-
Azimi, E & Mousavipor, S. (2014). The Effects of Educational Multimedia in
Dictation and its Role in Improving Dysgraphia in Students with Dictation
Difficulty. Contemporary Educational Technology, 5(4), 331-340. Retrieved 28,
January 2016
3. Explain question:-
Can educational multimedia in dictation improve dysgraphia in students with
diction difficulty?
4. Experiment:-
A group of second grade primary students referred to a disability learning
center were tested for dysgraphia and 39 were selected for the study. 20
students were chosen for the experimental group and 19 students were
chosen for a control. Students who were chosen for the experimental group
worked individually under the supervision of a tutor who guided them in the
use of the dictated multimedia software in addition to traditional educational
instruction. Students in the control group used only traditional educational
instruction while at the disability learning center. The study was conducted in
15 sessions over 15 weeks (4 academic months).
5. Results:-
The results of the study demonstrated that the students who used the
multimedia in dictation had improvement when compared to students who
relied only on traditional teacher based educational practices. Multimedia
with more tailored focus on dysgraphia has the “potential to resolve student’s
learning disability fundamentally.” Based on the results, the authors of this
study recommend that educational multimedia in dictation should be used in
conjunction with traditional instruction to assist students with learning
disabilities in dictation.
6. Why This Research:-
While this research is not directly related to the topic of my project I think it
is important to have an understanding of how to assist students with learning
disabilities. I enjoyed studying about the methods used for evaluating the
students understanding prior to the use of the multimedia and how its use
improved their comprehension.
7. Discussion:-
what are your thoughts about other ways in which educational technology
tools can benefit students?
