Any abnormal alteration in either rate or rhythm of cardiac
contraction is termed as cardiac arrhythmia.

5. Sinus Arrhythmia
Definition-This is a phasic alteration in the heart rate in
relation to breathing. The heart rate increases in inspiration
and decreases in expiration.
Significance-This is the most common arrhythmia. It is a
normal phenomenon and is a manifestation of normal
autonomic nervous activity.
