Perkasie Historical Society - Removed Commentary
1. Perkasie Historical Society – Removed Commentary
The below commentary highlighted in orange was removed from the Facebook page of the Perkasie
Historical Society several weeks after it was posted in June, 2017. It was made in response to a post
about the 125th
anniversary of a local church whose current building looks nothing like the structure
depicted on an early 1900s postcard found on Ebay, which the historical society stated was moved and
remodeled. The deleted post also referenced a historical real estate registry book that Perkasie Borough
denied having in a 2014 Right to Know Law (RTKL) records request. Said book, found in plain sight
by a local resident during a subsequent records review in the basement of Perkasie Borough's municipal
building, contains several items proving the still-unacknowledged historic municipal realignments that
took place in the Sellersville/Perkasie area. The reference to “1171.40' to P.1.” is one such item.
2. Screen-shot portions of the 7/8/14 RTKL request for said registry, along with the borough's denial of
said request due to the fact that the files “do not exist” at the borough office, are listed below.

Borough's response:
N.B. The Bucks County Recorder of Deeds stated that they did not have said registry either, advising
that it would be held solely by Perkasie Borough and would not have ever been transferred to the
Recorder of Deeds Office.
