The learning centre focus mainly on elderly and to make them feel important. The purpose of the LCA
is to be able to enhance connection and engagement with the community elderly. To accomodate activities
and spaces that will give them satisfaction and happiness - such as open spaces, quiet spaces or even noisy
spaces where people are playing mahjong together.
Public realm:
“Front Porch” - The space giving back to the community. The space where elderly involves in
MAHJONG games, socialising at KOPITIAM or just seating and watching as people go by the LCA.
Courtyard -
Walkability and Permeability in all sides - mantaining the 5 ft way to all the edges of the site for
pedestrians to be protected from weather and to be able to go around the LCA in ease and comfort.

The front porch is the active frontage of the LCA. The smell of the kopitiam and the noisy shouts from the mahjong game will
attract visitors to come and see. People that passes by will take a glance of what is happening and maybe even stop to go in.
The 3 access points attract visitors from all sides and enable them to also exit from different sides.
