The brain is a complex organ That controls all body functions or
processs including thought, sensory perception And physical action. The
weight of Brain is about 3 pounds, the human brain contains as many
as 100 billion neurons and 100 trillion connections.
Neurons are information messengers which use electrical and chemical
impulses to transmit information around the central nervous system
The Brain processes information it receives through its neuron network
and sends signal to all parts of the body to control body functions and
respond to stimuli
The Brain is our motherboard, storage, operating system and more.the
nuance of it’s function can’t be summarized in a black and white
dichotomy, which is how the left and right brain idea came around
The Brain is divided into symmetrical left and right hemispheres each
hemispheres is charged to the opposite side of body so your right brain
controls left hand and vise versa. (Corpus callosum).
The process of information in brain is faster than formula one car.brain
information can travel upto 268mph.Roger Sperry demonstrated in the
1960s that each hemisphere of the brain specializes in certain tasks. By
studying epilepsy patients who have undergone a procedure that
separates the left and right hemispheres of the brain, Sperry
determined the left side of the brain handles analytical and verbal
tasks, while the right half takes care of the spatial perception tasks and
contributes emotional context to language.
Many of us have asked ourselves this question at least once. The idea that
people are either “left brained” (more concrete and analytical), or “right
brained” (more abstract and creative), has been circulating in popular culture for
decades. The lasting influence of this concept may be due to the natural human
inclination to categorize everything —including the people around us. A
neurobiologist Roger Sperry Suggested that all people have ½ of their brain
Which is more dominant And determines their personality, thoughts and
behavior
Due to Different function of two hemispheres, the idea that can be Left brain and
right brain is tempting
According to the theory Left brained people are more:
Analytical
Logical
Detail and Fact oriented
Numerical
Likely to think in words
The theory suggested that Right brained people are more:
Creative
Free thinking
 Able to see the big picture
 Intuitive
 likely to visualize more than think in words
The myth of the totally opposite hemispheres persists for a variety of reasons.
It satisfies the need for order.
Like astrological signs, it gives people a defined personality type. People naturally
see creativity and logic as opposites.
People find the idea of having untapped creative power appealing.
right-handed people had slightly higher IQ scores compared to left-handers
People aren’t fully right or left brained
The left brain is more verbal, analytical, and orderly than the right brain. It’s
sometimes called the digital brain. It’s better at things like reading, writing, and
computations.
Children who are left brain weak are often very visual, spontaneous,
emotional and intuitive but may struggle academically with memorizing
facts and paying attention to details.
Difficulties that may involve the right brain: Problems with visual
memory, Trouble with facial recognition, Lack of flexibility, Struggles with
comprehension and problem solving, Issues with understanding
emotions, Lack of spatial awareness, Difficulty with visual learning,
Creative difficulties.
Their brain test project showed: 41% of earch-dwellers are left-brained,
while only 27% are right-brained. In 32% of participants, the two
hemispheres exert equal influence on thinking.
Research suggests that the left brain vs. right brain theory is not correct.
While specific parts of the brain do dominate the processing of different
mental tasks, there is typically no overall dominant side.
