3. DINOSAURS
• Dinosaurs are the single, most successful type of species to ever walk
the earth. Dinosaurs ruled the earth for over 150 million years, from
the late Triassic Period about 230 million years ago until the end of the
Cretaceous Period, about 65 million years ago. From carnivores to
herbivores, bipedal to quadrupeds, dinosaurs came in all sorts and
sizes. Some were as big as buildings, others were the size of chickens,
some had feathers, some were fast sprinters... Over 500 distinct general
and more than 1,000 different species of dinosaurs have been
identified. Their remains are found on every continent of the planet.
Some dinosaurs developed complex skeletal structures for protection
against predators and others developed ornamental crests possibly for
mating. Some dinosaurs had large plates or fins for cooling their
bodies and some were great parents to their offspring. Other dinosaurs
possessed the intelligence to hunt in packs.... This site is dedicated to
these magnificent creatures and the researchers that dedicate their lives
learning more about them.

Tyrannosaurus (meaning “Tyrant
Lizard”), was one of the largest
terrestrial carnivores of all time being
it's massive skull was balanced by a long,
heavy tail. The heavily reinforced skull
suggests that it was a devastating
predator, with bone-crushing bite
strength with jaws armed with 150mm
long, sharp, serrated teeth. Relative to
the large and powerful hind limbs, The
forelimbs were small and retained only
two digits. the tiny arms to have been
well-muscled, presumably to enable the
animal to anchor itself to the ground as it
attempted to straighten its hind legs and
stand up from a prone position.

9. Animatronics
• Meaning: Deceptive Lizard
Once known as Brontosaurus,
Apatosaurus is probably the most
famous dinosaur of all. This massive
dinosaur is a member of the sauropod
subgroup Diplodocidae.
Diplodocids were gigantic and
weighed 30 tons or more. Some were
extremely long, reaching lengths of
more than 100 feet. Their tails were
long and tapered, sometimes ending in
a “whiplash.”

• Allosaurus (meaning “Other
reptile”). Running on two
muscular, bird-like legs, It
preyed upon the large
herbivores of the period,
forelimbs were short but
muscular, each of the three
fingers tipped with a sharp
curved claw up to 25cm (10
inches) long The powerful jaws
with over seventy sharp 8cm
(3 inch) long teeth.

was distinguished by two highly

top of its delicate head. With
long, sharp but skinny teeth,
this dinosaur is believed to have

• Stegosaurus (meaning “roof
lizard”), is one of the most
easily-identifiable dinosaurs,
due to the distinctive double
row of kite-shaped plates rising
vertically along its arched back
and the two pairs of long spikes
extending horizontally near the
end of its tail.
The most dangerous weapon
ever evolved by a plant-eating
animal. It is also known for its
remarkably tiny brain, at only
80 grams, apparently sufficient
for its needs.

• Brachiosaurus was an enormous
sauropod, one of the largest
dinosaurs known Named for
the large bones of its forelegs,
indicating that its neck was held
in a more vertical position. It
was adapted to live on land,
with similarities to a giraffe,
browsing in treetops. Its peg-
like teeth were used to strip
leaves from the high branches.,

• Ankylosaurus (meaning “Fused
reptile”) The last and largest of
the tank-like armored dinosaurs,.
Large bony plates, which
probably had additional horn-like
coverings, The skull was thick
with two pairs of sharp horns.
Parts of the tail vertebrae were
fused like the handle of a club,
while the base of the tail remained
flexible. The end of the tail was a
large bony club which would have
been a devastating defensive
weapon wielded against attacking
predators. The brain was devoted
to its sense of smell.

6 feet (1.8 m) wide and 4 feet (1.2 m) tall
Weight roughly 3-4 tons.

• Carnivore (meat-eater) A
fossilized Baryonyx was found
with a fossilized meal in its
stomach; this stomach
contained fish scales, fish
bones, and some partially
digested bones of a
young Iguanodon. So far,
Baryonyx is the only known
dinosaur that ate fish. It may
have waded in rivers and
shallow seas to catch fish (just
as some modern-day bears do).

Animatronics Dinosaurs
All our animatronics models are highly realistic. They are fleshy to the touch, feathered as scientifically
appropriate, and move smoothly, thanks to the electronic and mechanical technologies hidden within.
Every exhibition piece has been carefully handcrafted, based on the best available data from palaeontologists,
to present a realistic vision of dinosaurs as they were when they roamed the earth.
The skin and feather colours we present, as well as the sounds our animatronics models make,
are based on the informed opinions and speculations of recognized scientific authorities. For instance,
the size and shape of nasal cavities may suggest the kinds of sounds a dinosaur could have made.
Skeletons
The life-like dinosaur models we build are based on skeletons that are, in their own right, awe-inspiring.
It is one thing to see an animatronics model of a 20-meter long (66-foot) Omeisaurus, and quite another
to stand alongside one of the huge thing bones it needs to support its I8 tonne (40,000 Ibs.) bulk.
The dinosaurs exhibition collection includes skeletons ranging from small winged dinosaurs and aquatic
lizards to large predatory tyrannosaurus and their even large prey.
Fossils
Our collection of fossils includes more than 200 examples of bones, eggs, stomach contents and
impressions of skin and feathers. It is a collection that has drawn attention, interest and praise from
enthusiastic guests and palaeontologists alike.
33. • The lure of dinosaurs is irresistible. Around the world, people of all ages flock
to dinosaur exhibition, eager to see these marvelous creatures. They delight in
discovering how dinosaurs looked and behaved, comparing them to what they
have seen in books, in films and on television. And more recently, they have
become to be fascinated by the curious links between extinct theropod
dinosaurs (T-rex among them) and modern day birds.
• Dinosaur exhibition entertains and informs your guests with a sophisticated
blend of life-like life-sized animatronics dinosaur models, skeletons and fossils
replicas that span the Mesozoic Era. Our animatronics cover a wide range of
creatures from Tyrannosaurus rex to the gigantic Omeisaurus, to the feathered
Micro raptor and Veloci raptor, and more.
• Our dinosaurs take an innovative approach to dinosaur exhibitions---an
approach that has resulted in great excitement at venues such as the Toronto
Zoo, Brookfield Zoo, the Cincinnati Museum Center and many other theme
and amusement parks.
• Our overwhelming goal is to provide a first-class, story-driven dinosaur
exhibition, customized to your available space, goals, and budget.

Why your guests will enjoy every moment of their Dinosaur Exhibitions experience?
Our dinosaur exhibition has a large and varied collection designed to provide your guests with a unique
window on what life was like on earth during the Mesozoic Era—from 250 million to 65 million years ago.
They will see how dinosaurs evolved to fit different ecological niches, and be awed by the sheer size of some
of them—something only truly appreciated by standing next to a life-sized model.
Although animatronics are at the heart of every Dinosaur exhibition, we also present full-sized
skeletons and accurately detailed fossils, so guests can see what lies behind the scientific depiction of dinosaurs.
Cincinnati Museum Center had a wonderful experience working with Dinosaurs Unearthed. Attendance for our
exhibition exceeded our projections by 70% and ended up as the 3rd highest visited special exhibit that we have
