K-Electric Limited formerly known as Karachi Electric Supply Company Limited (KESC) is at present the
only vertically-integrated power utility in Pakistan that manages the generation, transmission and
distribution of electricity to the city. K-Electric is also one of the city’s largest employers with nearly
11,000 people currently working for it. It was established one hundred years ago on September 13, 1913
and is one of the oldest companies operational in Karachi.

To verify and review Income Tax liability of management and non-management employees
deductible against their taxable salaries.
To Implement and update the SAP about changes and amendments occurring in current tax laws
and practices.
To review Income tax liability of leaving employees at time of their settlement.
To prepare E-payments of WHT and ensure timely deposit into Govt. Treasury.
To prepare monthly and annual WHT statements and ensure timely E-filing of these on FBR
Portal.
To monitor compliance issues related to WHT payments / e-filing of WHT statements on routine
basis and keep management updated about any outstanding liabilities.
To facilitate tax department in preparation of replies in response to various queries received
from Taxation Authorities.
To coordinate with Taxation and other concerned departments to improve their understandings
with regard to changes in tax rates / laws announced by Taxation authorities / FBR from time to
time.
To perform necessary computation / financial analysis in respect of Tax liabilities.
To facilitate employees in filling of their annual income tax return.
To supervise and process all Payroll related activities in SAP on monthly basis.
Involved in establishment of K-electric Employee Gratuity Fund Accounts in SAP after developing
K Electric Employee Gratuity Fund.
Proper Monitoring of all K Electric Employee Gratuity Fund accounts/ books, legal issues and
their bank reconciliation.
To review, analyze and report alternative investment opportunities to trustees of Gratuity fund.
Verification of Income tax liability.
Budgeting and Planning.

SAP (Material Management & FICO).

Providing data to actuaries against employees benefits (I.e. Gratuity, leave Encashment, medical
entitlement and etc.) for actuarial valuation of gratuity and other retirement related benefits.
Preparation of K-electric employees (Non-Management and Management) salary budget and
Revex budget of Payroll finance department.
To established good liaison with Internal / External Auditors and provide them with information
or data related to employees as and when required in connection with annual & half yearly
Audits.
To review and post in SAP of all payment of third party employees working with K- electric.
To review and post in SAP of all final settlement payment (i.e. Gratuity, leave Encashment,
medical and etc.) of leaving / separated employees
Liaison with Treasury department and bank for finance / cash flow and related issues.
Liaison with HR/IR or other department for any settlement and salary related issues.
To Reconcile and close monitoring of Payroll and final settlement of leaving employees related
GLs in SAP.
