The fourth faculty meeting at Trinity College of Engineering was chaired by the Principal Dr. Arun Surendran and Vice Principal Dr. Mary Mettilda Rose. It took place on July 4th, 2018 in the auditorium and included an internal audit meeting and department meetings. Assistant Professor Jomy Joseph from the Civil Department introduced Co-Po mapping. The meetings are now held on the first and third Saturday of each month to discuss course progress and student development. NSS volunteers from Trinity College participated in a two-day service camp at the Government Ayurveda College, assisting with cleaning and repairs.

Four Trinity students, Jessica, Soniya, Arunima and Anand from S5, attended a one-day workshop on human error management organized by the Indian Society for Technical Education. In the recent past, there have been low rates of student retention in colleges and universities. There is a very high disparity between students that joining first year and those that would finish their fourth year (Kuh, 2008). Due to the increasing rates of student dropouts, universities have come up with high impact programs that are aimed at increasing the rates of student retention in universities. The first strategy that is showing hope in the current times is that one which is geared towards ensuring that the first year students enroll in seminars that allow them to develop teams that they are going to help each other learn and do some extracurricular activities throughout their time in the university. The second strategy that has been used by universities is learning communities where students are expected to write some assignments and do funded research in their field of study(Kilgo, Sheets, & Pascarella, 2015). Apart from that, students also get to interact with other students from all over the globe not mentioning the internship and capstone courses and projects. All these strategies are focused on making education more engaging, easy and involving for each and every student in the university. TR II1ITY Vol II Ed CDXXVII FOURTH FACULTY MEETING Our Principal Dr. Arun Surendran and Vice Principal Dr. Mary Mettilda Rose chaired the fourth faculty meeting, which took place in our auditorium on 4 th July 2018.An interactive session followed the internal audit meeting and department wise meeting. Asst. Prof. Jomy Joseph from Civil department gave an introduction on Co-Po mapping. The meeting was the first in the new system of faculty meet up on campus in the mornings of the first and third Saturday of every month. Since there are no regular classes, the time is used for updating of files and discussing progress of each course and batch. The meetings aim to strengthen the mentor-mentee system, remedial classes and improvement in results and GPA.
