XL-Media gateway is positioned as an extension of today Common Hardware product range and
will reuse Common HW architecture :
XL-Media gateway needs to be attached via IP to an OXE Call Server (CS3 or appliance server),
XL chassis features 2 * independent Media gateways, each of them driven by a Gateway Driver (GD-XL) board
XL chassis is a standard 19” inch (width) and 6U (height) mechanic with all cabling at the front
Each GD-XL provides two front RJ-45 (Ethernet) connectors (one for back-up)
Each FXS32-XL board provides a single 64 pin front connector to attach the 32 pair cable
However, Power (-48Vdc) is connected at the rear side of the chassis, an external -48Vdc rectifier is needed (re-use of OXE
portofolio)
XL-Media gateway chassis provides up to 384 * FXS ports
Up to 12 * FXS32-XL boards can be plugged into XL chassis
Each of the two GD-XL drives 6 * FXS32-XL boards

Chassis:
19” / 6U Mechanics from Schroff (OEM 3rd party)
BACK-XL : 14-slot backplane
Set of boards:
FXS32-XL: 32 * “Z” interfaces (equivalent to 2 * SLI-16-2 of CHW)
GD/GA-XL: Rack controller; adaptation of GD4 to XL chassis form factor and constraints
It can also play the “GA” role when plugged in “non master” slot (automatic identification via
backplane)
ARMADA daughterboard
re-use of existing CHW board
Cabling:
32 pairs cables for FXS lines at the front of the chassis to the Main Distribution Frame
