3. HEBREW 13:17
Obey your leaders & submit
to them; for they are keeping
watch over your souls, as men
who will have to give account.
Let them do this joyfully, and
not sadly, for that would be no
advantage of you

22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as
you do to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the
wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of
which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to
Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in
everything.
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the
church and gave himself up for her
Eph 5:22-25

19. 5and you have [a]forgotten the divine word of encouragement which is
addressed to you as sons,
“MY SON, DO NOT MAKE LIGHT OF THE DISCIPLINE OF THE LORD,
AND DO NOT LOSE HEART and GIVE UP WHEN YOU ARE CORRECTED BY HIM;
6 FOR THE LORD DISCIPLINES and CORRECTS THOSE WHOM HE LOVES,
AND HE PUNISHES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES and WELCOMES [TO HIS
HEART].”7 You must submit to [correction for the purpose of] discipline;
God is dealing with you as with sons; for [b]what son is there whom his
father does not discipline? 8 Now if you are exempt from
correction and without discipline, in which all [of God’s children] share,
then you are illegitimate children and not sons [at all].

Fathers are not to act like tyrants/cruel/dictatorship in their own households and produce restless or rebellious children who resent their treatment.
Rather, fathers are to be like our own Heavenly Father–nurturing, loving, and merciful
It should starts from us. What we show, what we teach, what they observe from us they will follow.
-If they fell love, respect
A classic characterization of Jesus is that he is
PRIEST, PROPHETS & KING
On the day of your Baptism we were grafted onto Christ
On the day of your Baptism we anointed as
PRIEST
Who makes sacrifice on behalf of the people of GOD
-Offer prayer, intercede, give blessing
PROPHETS
A person is a prophet in the measure that he or she bears the truth of God
-beacons of light to our family
-Study the word of God
-Ready to respond/ defend your Faith/Hope that’s in you
KING
Thus, a Catholic parent directs her children toward the accomplishment of their God-given missions,
educating them, shaping them interiorly, molding their behavior, disciplining their desires, etc.
D. We can see that our responsibility is a heavy one. Since on our own we will have a very hard time,
the Lord has given us various sources of support and strength for our task.
1. The Lord Himself.
a) The Lord is our ultimate source of strength.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
He is the source of all wisdom.
b) When we feel weary and find life burdensome, we can turn to Jesus. Mt 11:28-30.
The Lord anoints his leaders. You can have this confidence.
Turn to your household head, or other CFC elders if need be,
for guidance and direction. Be open and eager for input.
Be faithful to your weekly household meetings,
open up your life to your brothers, and receive their support and the wisdom of their collective experience.
b) Look for opportunities to be with your brothers outside of the regular CFC activities.
As a the head of the family it is our calling to take care of our family.
It is our responsibility to guide our family and to allow each member of the family to discover purpose according to God’s will.
