TotalAvailableMarket(TAM):Restaurants in India, operating from medium to large size who are willing to manage their employees
through a mobile/desktop portal.
Small sized restaurant might not be having much employee relatedissues and might also be not verywell organized to operate
and/or afford ZomatoBase, hence not counted in TAM.
ServiceableAvailableMarket(SAM):
- All Indian restaurants who are currently using ZomatoBase
- Medium-Large sized restaurants in tier 1 and 2 cities of India where internet penetration is good, as features on ZomatoBase
specific to cloud base would require internet connectivity
TargetMarket:
All Indian restaurants who are currently using ZomatoBase
Justification: Assuming that ZomatoBase wants to understand business opportunity with the early adopters for employee
management app, the target market for first MVP could be restaurants who are alreadyusing ZomatoBase.

10. User Research: Insights derived
LARGE RESTAURANTS PAIN POINTS
- Something to reduce pilferage (theft at small scale) is highly appreciated
- Available products in market, within the budget of restaurant owners, have most of the useful featuresas needed, however
these product don’t seem to be technicallysound- issues like software crash, database entry mismatch, etc are common and
a hindrance to daily record management
- Even with camerasinstalled in the outlet and admin access to live video footage remotelyon any device (desktop, mobile),
pilferage happens
MEDIUM/NEWLY LAUNCHED RESTAURANTS PAIN POINTS
- Unscheduled leavesis the biggest problem. Employees keep taking leaveson emergency basis
- Attrition is a serious problem, restaurants are having these issues even though employees are happy. Employee tend to leave
for a salary raise as less as INR 500
- Automated, accurateand cost-effectiveways to capture in and out time of employees would be greatlyappreciated. This data
is required to calculatethe salary of employees
- Run time creationof menu/dish (Option for customers to createtheir own menu) is desirable for many clients> further more,
restaurants want to analyse which combinations are most selling
GENERIC INFORMATION
- Restaurants usually have two shifts: Morning and Evening
- These shifts are further divided into number of working hours which ranges as follows: 4 hours, 9 hours, 12 hours
