Phanta Kalpana
1. 1
In phāṇṭa preparation, water soluble extractives are brought into the liquid
media and the liquids is used as medicament just like cold infusion.
There is very slight difference between the hima and phāṇṭa, and that is in
hima, cold water is used, while the phāṇṭa is prepare in hot water.
In hima the drug is kept soaked overnight but in phāṇṭa it is kept until the hot
water cools down.
Phāṇṭa Kalpana is not suitable choice for the drugs that are volatile in nature,
rather hima preparation is a good choice.
